As good as last nights effort was, there will be at least 2 inclusions into the Team for Friday nights game against the Pies.

You would expect that Jamo and Bower would be straight into the side....

But who do you drop from a team that has just won by 20 goals?

My two at this stage would be White and ??? I have no idea.

Logic says it would be either Thornton or Watson, but I feel it would be very tough on both players.

Really pleaseing to see that we have some depth finally and players are being made to earn their spots.

I'm looking forward to seeing the boys take on the competitions best and seeing exactly how much we have or have not improved over the summer!

Not convinced that Bower should come straight in with the footy he's missed and the form of others. Perhaps 1 or 2 in the Bullants would top him up.

Jammo is a must

White goes straight out. Like for like, and Jamo is our first-choice big defender. No disgrace to White, but he's a KPD only (doesn't offer anything else) and is futher down the depth chart.

I think Watson stays in, though, for the kickouts and for the big game experience.

Depends whether they want to bring Bower straight back in. Could come in for Thornton.

We probably need to bring in a prime Kernahan, Silvagni and Williams to beat Collingwood, though.

White out Jamo in.

IF Bower is right to go then its an interesting situation, last week i would've said Thornton...............but his efforts up forward this week will see him stay.

Hendo any chance of returning???

White out for Jamison.

Keep Watson in, we actually need his kicking skills against the crazy forward pressure of the Magpies and his big body will be handy against Dawes.

Bower probably should have a week or two in the VFL.

Match committee can decide what to do between Thornton and Henderson.

Jamo will be straight back in, but I'm not so sure about Bower considering he didn't even play VFL. So he's lost some match conditioning, which means they'll probably bring him in via the 2's. Happy to go in with Jamo and Watson as the 2 KPD's against Floodingwood. Also a chance Hendo will come back next week. The 2 players just hanging on to their spots are White and Thornton. I can't see any changes being made to the mids next week - they've started the season very well, and Curnow's been outstanding.

:)

This. ..
Jammo is the backline general and is a must inclusion (was in good form)

Bower didn't have a proper pre-season and we all remember what happened last year when we didn't ease him back in. .. run in the VFL for him

Hendo is the real question, from reports he is still short of a gallop and could do with another week in the VFL but he has had a couple of weeks back now and the MC might want to ramp up his intensity. .. Another week in the VFL for mine. ..

IN: Jammo
OUT: White

Jammo - Cloke
Watson - Dawes
Yarran - Krakeour
Laidler - Brown
Duigan - Resting Mid
Rusty - Didak

Didak and Resting Mid has me worried. .. Yazz showed he can do a number on Krakeour otherwise I'd give him the job. .. Whoever plays on Didak has to hurt him going the other way, as he is usually unaccountable. ..

No doubt Watson will be out of depth a little but his kick outs will be important and I really think his spoiling is a massive asset and he should hopefully stop Dawes getting easy marks and then hurt him going the other way. ..

White hasn't done anything wrong, so I doubt he'd be dropped for the pies game. Watson is far more likely to be dropped, just from a development perspective. Why would the club want to take the chance of crushing his confidence playing against seasoned big bodied players?

At least White has had a taste of it before.

I think Thornton is safe for now simply for his flexibility.

White was our worst player last night. Given that someone has to make way for Jamo, and Watson is bigger than White, and played better, Watson should keep his spot ahead of White

White and T-bird out. Jammo and Hendo in. My dream is that Carrots will be dropped, but unlikely.

Experience required.

If Jamo and Bower were both ready Watson and Thornton may be the 2 going out
It just wouldn't be fair on Watson to be on Cloke.
I know Thornton kicked a few last night, but that may be somewhet more unlikely against the Pies.
I just feel that Thornton slows the forward line down.
We may be more dangerous in the 50 without him.
Hendo may not have done enough for a recall yesterday.
Collins though may be a surprise addition.

Yep :thumbsu:

32 did most things asked of him last night. I still get the feeling he'd rather pull out a card table and play a couple of hands than continue any momentum we have built. Or rather than run in for a shot at goal swing around and drill it back to the wing. :o

Drop Watson back to the VFL and let him develop by playing against big bodied VFL Forwards. He's not ready. This kid has a big future with us, we must be patient and let him learn his position in the twos. He looked like a baby againt Big Charlie last night, let alone Dawes or Cloke.

Jamison in for Watson.

I wouldn't be so sure about Bower coming back for the Collingwood match. Ratten said last week that he could've played against Richmond, but they wanted to give him an extra week. Now they've given him an extra two weeks. This just reminds me of last year when he pulled out of the Brisbane games and was "a week away" for over a month.

Jamison is the only real walk-in if he's fit. Bower can go through the twos.

So... Jamo in, White out. I'm enjoying Thornton as our swing man.

When Hendo and Kruezer are right, that's going to be tough.

And is there a place for Brock?

Jamo definitely in for either Watson or White, and Henderson for Thornton if he's fit. Agree with the poster before that we need Watson's kicking skills against Collingwood. And no to Bower.

Also, I'd personally rather Ellard, Lucas or even Collins as the substitute instead of Armfield.
