I know a poll was already up on the board but it looked pretty dodgey with a 3 odd players who are under 30 games so maybe this one will be more sensible..

Much better than the last thread but I still would have added a few more names just to give the options.

Grimes
Sylvia
ect.

I know they most likely aren't in the mix yet but at least people can choose who they want.

I went for Green, before this season I would have gone Moloney but I think Green has earn't it.

Was thinking Sylvia but he hasnt shown much leadership and said he's focused on playing consistant footy.. Obviously the next 3 years it will be Grimes, Scully, Trengove, Watts, Jurrah but i was thinking more of when we really need the veterans to step up and show the Melbourne way for the young blokes.

when are they likely to make the call? does it matter? or will they let pre-season get underway and see if one of the candidates stands out more than the others?

i asked schwab on that question thing and he said they are in no rush and i get the feeling that we wont get an answer till next year.

wouldnt they be choosing soon as they are going to play brisbane in china soon? could at least be an indication of which way they are leaning

I wouldn't read too much into whoever they select as captain over there. just my humble opinion

I think one thats been left off coming into the mid age range is Chip. Watching the games this year he is the real leader of the backline even arranging matchups for guys like Bruce and Rivers.

May not be capt though would seem a lock for the leadership group.

Brad Green. No doubt. He has earnt the right to lead the side for the next 2-3 years. Anyone who was at the Bluey would have heard him speak with passion about the club, and seen the high regard he is held in by the rest of the playing group. He is fearless on the ground and a good media performer off it.

Great to see we have some really good candidates though. Beamer, Flash, Grimsey, Russian, would all do great jobs. Junior didn't have anywhere near the same competition when he got the nod.

I suggested this in another thread (I think). I would love to see a line of succession such as Green>Beamer>Frawley...

I really hope Green gets it could take over for the next few years then give it to one of the young kids.

Without being to harsh on Davey i hope he dosent get it dont think he is the right person to capt the club.

Would have to say Greeny, but Beamer would be my second preference.

I voted Greeny, wouldn't mind Beamer or any of the other options actually.

When Green retires, I'd like to see Grimesy take over. He's a great leader, player, thinker and media performer and he'd likely be there for ~8 years (after Green) so he'd add quite a bit of stability to the club.
