I have nothing against Mick Malthouse, but how long does everyone think he will be with us..?

And if he does leave, who will be a possible replacement..?

It depends how long he remains. If he was sacked today I would think McKenna or Gotch would be the temp replacement and they may make good coaches.
If its in 1 or 2 years or so the candidates may be:
Mark Harvey (I hope not)
Guy McKenna
Brad Gotch
Gavin Brown (? Questionable as to how good a coach he would be)
Nathan Buckley ??? (same but I doubt he will take up a senior job so quickly)
Malcolm Blight
Brian Royal
Mick McGuane
Terry Daniher

Well you would think the likes of these coaches/assistant coaches would be up there.

Neil Balme. LOL :p

i remember a thread a while ago about mark williams eventually ending up at collingwood. I thought it was far fetched, but port supporters posting on the thread didnt seem to think so..

I don't think Choco will be back at Collingwood. Despite captaining the club in the 80's, I don't think it will change the fact that he has turned against us whilst over in South Australia coaching the rivals Port Adelaide.

I would like Chris Connelly at the club, but....I think he will spend his coaching career at the Dockers. Dean Laidley is another coach I respect, but I think if Mick was to go at the end of the year, it would be an assistant - therefore someone like Mark Harvey, but hopefully Gavin Brown. :D

I don't think it'd be that far out of the question to think Choco would coach Collingwood if the timing and everything was right. I couldn't see Eddie going for a first time coach like Harvey. He'd want the highest profile, biggest name possible in true Eddie style. Only the best and all that.

Dunno how i'd feel hearing disciplinary stories about our coach.....

I think the Docker fans would pay you to take Connelly :p

Malcolm Blight. Malthouses days are over he came in got us 2 the big 1 twice and now the team looks old n stale and still mentally scarred. we are still 3 or 4 years off getting back so y not start fresh again

Choco would love to coach the Pies at some stage.
The problem is Choco would still be at Port in 2/3 years time.
I'd like Choco as a coach but he would have to cutback on how uhhhh... straightforward he is when he makes a comment to the media, although I would love it as he would make Collingwood even more hated.

I think with Eddie at the helm, he will always want someone experienced and with a high profile. This may or may not be the best method, but I think that's how he is. We have the resources and facilities to lure any top coach, and maybe even 1 or 2 players.

Choco is an interesting choice. I would be happy if we got him.

Malthouse

Daylight

Buckley

If McGuane got the job (god forbid) he would reward players by handing out slabs of bourbon at training.

If it is not Malthouse then I guess we just go out to coaches tree and pick another one off, coz there is so many good coaches around - Geez they are everywhere!!!!!

i think all is not over for malthouse yet. It is however a big test for him. See how good he is at getting his players back up and regrouping when they're down like this. If he fails however.............
