I know it's still early in the season but I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on our team and who doesn't fit into our style of game and where our club wants to be heading in the future.

Andrew Lee
Jason Johnson
Damien Peverill

Possibly:

Courtney Johns (If he cannot make an impact down back)
Dustin Fletcher (If the body cannot stand up)
Ricky Dyson (Traded if he cannot make solid improvement)

Lee, JJ, Pev, Dick, Chartres.

Johns to stay on another year as we need cover for big men - it was out of him and Lee and it's an easy choice me thinks. I'd be willing to keep him just in case Mal and Fletch go down with injury. If anyone is will to trade for him than we should let him go.

Dyson should be up for trade.

JJ and Pev will be pushed into retirement whether they like it or not. They just don't match the new game plan of fast movement and skillful passing.

If Courtney Johns can't get a game even with Lloyd and Lucas out then I don't think he should be on the list. I would be sceptical about having him down back. Ryder is clearly the real deal, and with Daniher, possibly Neagle and others waiting in the wings I think Johns needs to be moved on.

I are NLM and think he should be on the list. I've always been a Dyson fan but even I can see he needs to step up this year.

JJ, Pev, & Lee will be delisted/retied at the end of the season.

Johns would be in a grey area ATM.

After that it would come down to trades and how many picks we are likely to use in the draft, my thinking would be 4, with an outside chance of 5.

So with that in mind the above mentioned 3, IMO, are gone. Johns will need to play out of his skin to survive as there are not to many other players that I can see in alot of trouble.

Out of our regular senior players JJ & Pev should be encouraged to retire gracefully.

It will be better for us to remember JJ as a Premiership player & Pev as a great servant of the club, than see them delisted or embarrass themselves at another club.

Its apparantly a bumper draft this year with plenty of depth.

The more picks we can get this year the better.

Conversely its going to be very difficult to trade for picks as most other clubs will realise how much depth it has too.

Johns - If he couldn't get a game on Friday night, then I don't think there's much confidence in him.

JJ - unfortunately the game's gone past a great soldier for our club

Dyson - a flyer in the preseason who just can't bring it onto the field of battle

Stanton - if we could get a top 10 pick for him, is potential trade bait

Pev - I think he is still good value as a ball winner, not a tagger. I think he might be out of favour with the coaching hierarchy

Slattery - Consistency is a problem

Michael - Will probably retire if he gets a few big bags kicked on him. The rules don't suit his game anymore

Not if the Gold Coast is up and running. They will have concession picks coming out of their poo hole.

Absolutely no chance. Lucky to get a 2nd round for him- HACK! When I was playing football, it was important to be able to kick a football and hit a target........

3 goals at 80% efficiency not good enough for ya.

Some people have this problem where they buy into the hype, then when the player fails to match that hype 100% (EG: The New Hird) then they are rubbish and get dumped on at every chance. I think it's some sort of instinctive protective measure for being stupid enough to buy into the hype to begin with and not wanting to look silly in retrospect.

I didn't consider the Rookie list guys. Apart from the pre-season games I havn't seen much of them so I'm not sure who'll go. I expect we'll turn over a few of them too.

His goal kicking isn't a problem, it's actually a strength. It's his field kicking and in particular his inability to hit a moving target (20m or 40m) by foot that is his problem. His turnovers kill us.

I'm not quite sure what you are insinuating with the first paragraph... I didn't realise we had a psychologist amongst us specialising in behavioural science.
