Dont for one minute think i am getting stuck into eddie, but eddie sometimes gets sucked into comments from the media that do not need to be replied to, the media love a storm at collingwood if its small or large and eddie should be thick skined enough to realise they are trying to bait him...... Caroline Wilson, Robert Walls they just do not like Eddie, so if we had to chose another president who do you think would fit the role?

James Clement
Not yet and i doubt he wants it

To answer the OP there isnt anyone that wants to put there hand up and actually want the job, and until that happens (hopefully whoever it is has balls and personality) it will be eddies job and im happy with that

John Bertrand, Craig Kelly, James Clement, any number of people who would represent the club well.

Agree - I've been a huge fan of Eddie over the years and how he's helped turn our club around however more recently he appears to love the sound of his own voice a little more than normal. His response to Hughesy's little quip about some of our supporters poor behaviour was not that of a measured man. Why respond by having a personal crack at Hughsey? He should've taken the simple line that he did not endorse the behaviour of the very small minority of Collingwood supporters in any way shape or form and that he hoped that they would be found out and dealt with accordingly. This would have defused the whole thing and would not have turned into a ridiculous media storm.

Com'on Eddie. Your better than that.

i think eddie is smart, he knows they are baiting him, but he also knows everytime he responds it keeps our name in the headlines for another week and the collingwood brand selling. Newspaper headlined should have read Ablett, not eddie respons back to dave hughes

Unsure about Kelly, but Bertrand is an Eddie supporter and James Clement isnt the position to become our president yet, i also think Jimmy would be a better CEO type of behind the scenes man

We have a lot of supporters and among them some very smart and successful people. Some ex players and some that haven’t been any closer than Eddie to playing for Collingwood. While Eddie wants to be president I doubt anyone will stand against him – unless the wheels have completely fallen off. When Eddie retires quality candidates will emerge.

Hopefully no one for a while after all hes done for the club he deserves to be there for the ultimate success. Jimmy would be good for the club but one from left field i'd suggest is Paul Stoddart he's successful in business a massive Collingwood fan and has experience running a sporting team. Question mark over how often he's in Australia though. Still nice to have that Kinda support.

Collingwood never gets an even break and is always the subject of muck-raking from the gutter press, glib press and accidental types like Hughes. Eddie's probably as sick of it as most supporters are and is giving them some pause at least by taking a swing or two with the sword.

They don't like us? Who bloody cares, let them carp on all they like, it is just grist to the mill so far as building that club solidarity is concerned. We all know the half of the journo's are fully tanked by 11 am and then wobble back to their desks full of Dutch courage and pitiful ideas, the other half just regurgitate the bile their drunken colleagues have bought up ten minutes ago.

Eddie's doing a fine job.

Eddie would be president as long as he wants to be. Unfortunately for us we have idiots in our midst to float certain ideas because they are bored or something, and think change is automatically the answer.

I seriously doubt there is any CREDIBLE candidate that would stand against him.

I think there are probably plenty of decent candidates for the presidency, but as far as I can see Eddie is an absolutely outstanding president, so I don't think there's a need for change.

MM I'm not so certain of.
