Riewoldt. Proven he can be a star in a shithouse team. Selwood has only proven he can be a top 10 player in an exceptional team. There will be a question mark for as long as he's playing in a dominant team and has great support and backup.
Wouldn't be to hard to be the best player at richmond, and plus he is there only forward target, this is why he is kicking so many bags, when the ball is comin to you 80% of the time you would wanna be kicking goals lol.

He is playing great football yes, and he is going to be a very good player in years to come, but for me it's all Joel Selwood. I don't think top 10 player in a exeptional team is fair, I rate him as highly as I do Bartel, would be top 20 in the Afl. If I could go back and pick 1 player from that draft, it would be selwood without a doubt.

Sigh.

Jack has been targeted 168 times this year (12.0 per game) for 53 goals. That's one goal for every 3.17 times he is the inside 50 target.

Buddy has been the target 123 times (12.3 per game) for 33 goals, or one goal for every 3.73 times.

Both would be great. But you can't go wrong with Selwood. He's been performing at an elite level from the word go. Plus if i was recruiting for Essendon well we are pretty desperate for a Selwood type midfielder. Nothing wrong with Jack though but he's just slightly more of a risk. Also for those saying Selwood is only good because he plays for Geelong i just can't believe that. Whenever Ablett or one of their other key midfielders is out he ALWAYS steps up and plays a great game.

Can you imagine Jack in a team such as Geelong where delivery would be centremeter perfect? The kid can play.

I don't think the amount of goals would change all that much if he played for Geelong. In fact, I would argue he would probably kick less. Sure, delivery would be a little better, but the ball wouldn't be going to him as often as it does at Richmond, given he would be competing with SJ, Moons, Pods etc. Richmond like to isolate him one out with buckets of space in the 50, which Geelong don't really with the way the forward line sets up.

Plus, JR is such a great mark he doesn't need good delivery anyway.

As for the thread question, not really sure. JR is awesome, but Selwood is a proven big game player who steps up when our other midfielders have decided to take the day off. He killed Hawthorn today.

Well, I am extremely happy that we picked up Selwood, given his performance during the last three years that contributed to the two premierships.

However, if we could do a straight swap, Joel for Jack, at the current point of their respective careers, well I wouldn't be all that disappointed to pick up a GUN full forward. And as a few have mentioned, as good as Joel is, he could be replaceable. Jack is the more influential player.

Very tough question, although quality Key-Forwards do not grow on trees these days. I couldn't split them, they both play different roles and it is a hard decision, I am happy with Riewoldt down at the tigers, great player.

Should substitute Thrope for Hansen.

Im sure Brad Roo would take Hansen over both.:thumbsu:
