Based on what you may have seen, heard or read, ie Weavers Phantom Draft III, who would you select with our draft picks? Please keep in mind that these players must be a realistic chance to be available when our picks are due.

Haven't really seen much of Angwin, players from both Adelaide and Carlton were relieved when he went because of his personality problems but he is suppose to be very talented. Has he played anywhere this year?

He played a game or two at Mooney Valley in the EFL. There were a lot of rumours around surrounding the reasons he didn't last, but I wont go into those.

It won't be easy, and we could end up with egg on our face. But Essendon has had history of bringing ego's down to earth. But players of his size and his ability don't grow on trees.

Definately worth the punt, give him one chance and one chance only.

Matthew Bate with pick 14 i rekn, he's spoken 2 every otha club except essendon so i actually feel essendon will speak 2 him later and take him, with our last pick mayb a becker or knights

Would be very happy with Bate according to the reports on him, if he last til our pick. IMO we need one or two of those more mobile potential key position players - a guy who can take strong marks yet is also clean of the ground like a midfielder. A lot of our tall talents are around or over the 198 cm mark (Cartledge, Laycock, Bradley) so I doubt they are agile enough as we would want for a position like CHF, CHB or even FB in the future.

Also would be great if we can pick up someone who can get the hard ball and dish it out regularly and help set up the play. Jordan Lewis sounds good but if we pick up a Bate or Willits I highly doubt Lewis would be around by our second pick - I would much prefer we use our top pick on a quality tall rather than midfielder because there is greater likelihood of jagging a good midfielder later on in the draft. Maybe a Jesse D Smith, is not fast but you can carry a guy like that if he wins the hard ball and really sets things up for the quicker guys like Dyson and Stanton.

Well Longy let me tell you the truth instead of rumours. Laurence Angwin will be with Essendon next year whether people like it or not. He started playing for MV but was told from an Essendon Official to get out of that comp (and place cause MV is a very............intersting place with some very dodgy people there), get his head right and that a leadership group (and here is the diffrence between Adelaide and esspecially carlton) will decide if they want him or not. So in fact he will owe his career to Hirdy and Lloyd.

Angwins is extremely high risk and I hope we dont but if we do pick him up then Dean Wallis can chaperone and discipline him.

I want Angwin at the club, I think he could turn into a fantastic footballer.
But that is a load of crap, except for the MV being a dodgy place.
