Farrow/Taylor and Doverston I would take.

Farrow frees up Rivers/Windsor to play midfield and Doverston frees up Pickett.

Schubert does sweet **** all in the VFL 2nds for us or competing for the same balls in the same VFL forwardline with Kentfield, Jefferson and Johnson down at windy Casey.
Petty back

JVR, Mihocek, Jefferson 3 talls AFL

AJ, Schubert and Kentfield 3 talls fwd VFL. Think AJ could also go back

How come? I had Schubert pinned as being great for you guys. Curious to hear why not.
Firstly, I'm not keen on him as a talent. Awful kick, chronic fumbler, OK contested mark, but not elite. Yes he's agile and athletic with a good tank, but I don't see an elite AFL talent. He's too much of a gamble for me.

Secondly, having lost Brayshaw, Oliver and Petracca we still need developing mids. It's almost certain that one of Sharp, Cumming or Grlj will be available at our first pick.

Thirdly, we're desperate for a quality small pressure forward. With Pickett now playing more midfield the only half decent small forward we have is Chandler. And he's just OK. We need Dovaston or Sumner-Pickett, or both.

Thoughts on the heavy links to Schubert via trade up with Carlton using your F1?
Bleddy well hope not. If we are trying to trade up, I really hope its for one of Sharp or Cumming (if there has been a feeling either slides hence us looking to trade up). Farrow would be good too as would Marsh.

A key forward that is not a great kick really does not excite me at all.

Fair play. I think there’s potential for one of Lindsay or Oskar Taylor to be available there

Again, neither is or (edited) should be on our radar and thats because around the same area will be a few SA lads that not only are in the zone at those picks talent wise, but also fill needs for us with some being local. Unless the interstate lad is markedly better, there is no reason to get creative unless these SA lads have all been taken by our pick(s)

Trading up for Schubert would be a disaster imo also.

Not as much a creativity thing than a not seeing Cumming or Sharp on the board at 9 thing. I see a near-zero chance that either are available tbh. If you’re shooting SA then for me it’s Phillipou, Marsh, Schubert in that range on talent, but maybe not on need. Sumner-Pickett even

Petty back

JVR, Mihocek, Jefferson 3 talls AFL

AJ, Schubert and Kentfield 3 talls fwd VFL. Think AJ could also go back

Yeah nah, you don’t use a top 10 pick on a 3rd key forward for your VFL team at best, all while forcing other blokes to play defence to just fit them in.

We already got May, Lever, Turner and Tom McDonald as our key backs in the 1sts with Jed Adams starting to come through. (And Kalani White to be also drafted). Don’t need to be adding Petty and AJ to that mix just so we can fit in Schubert as a 3rd VFL key forward.

Those KPD are cooked and are ancient

All 197cm guys start in the VFL unless their freaks

Sam Darcy and Thilthorpe played games in the 2nds

Only May and Tmac are but either way they are on our list in 2026 and will be playing either AFL or VFL so it doesn’t change the amount of space we actually have to move players around so we can play Schubert as a 3rd key forward in VFL.

Not sure why you’re pushing so hard for us to take a player that doesn’t make sense for us to take right now. Taking Schubert would give us 7 key forwards on our list which is unwarranted. Considering we only got one small forward on our main list.

Every list manager is looking to see what the team will be in 3 years time

There will be no May, Tmac, Mihoeck, Lever and AJ imo. Could well be more (Jefferson, Kentfield)

The only safe tall is probably JVR

You draft key fwds that big for 3-4 years time, not now

We got 2 first rounders next year if we need a KPP, the point of bringing in Mihocek was to see how JvR, Kentfield and Jefferson develop with seasoned experience. I am certain the club will want to see how that plays out first and if Jeffo/Kent can’t excel under a new regime that we pull the trigger in 2026 when there’s likely to be better tall stocks available.

We have White and that basketballer Berry also coming in this year as talls.

Bigger anticipated hole is midfield with Trac/Oliver moving on and Viney/Steele coming to the end also.

Twoomey said today we would be targeting mids so my guess is we go Farrow and whoever slips out of Grlj/Sharp/Cumming.

Don't want Farrow, hoping a team I don't like picks him up, but knowing sleepy mark and early picks, he's into him, any pick south of 30 sleepy mark might as well stay asleep, after pick 30 marks a genius, with 2 picks under 30, were screwed

At which pick do you see the eagles matching a bid for williams
Hopefully not any higher than pick 20. If it comes around the Geelong pick it should be about right since our fourth pick would move up the order, but it’s hopefully lower than that. Fingers crossed it comes around the bombers picks near north
