Just wondering when the squad/team will be announced for the game against the swans at Narrandera?
Hopefully a full strength team, be great to see (and hopefully smash the swans!)

For those who never heard of Narrandera its in the riverina (nsw) and the ground is unreal, easily the best ground in the entire region and size wise ... close to waverly - very wide and open

I would think quite a few will be rested and then come back for the game at optus as a final hitout before the season proper

Any idea exactly when the game will be held at Optus. Want to get my young fella (3yo) along to his first game and thought one without the big crowds might be good.

Time to ease him into life as a Tiges supporter:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Unrelated but I can't start a thread...

Imparja our Ten/Nine channel who broadcast to remote areas in the NT and Queensland including large centers such as Alice and Tenant Creek (I think Catherine as well) have dropped all AFL coverage, so we get 2 games a week now. The population in this area is probably in excess of 200,000 people and our fox sports coverage is grouped with Melbourne so we get no live games from there (and have to listen to Danny Frawley talk rubbish). I thought there was a big yahoo about all people getting coverage when the contracts were being negotiated and NT is an AFL Hub, full of passionate supporters, many of who are very angry. I emailed the afl 2 weeks ago and no response. Any ideas on how to approach this??? Easy for them to forget about us after they get their nice community shots with players and kids for their glossy little promos.:confused:

email, write letters and ring them, just annoy the hell out of them and they will at least respond just to get you to stop:D I doubt you will get the answer your looking for though because the AFL just do as they please and really don't seem to care about the game or the fans, just the money it brings

Not at Optus next week..... Geelong at home

NAB Challenge
Friday March 7

Geelong v Richmond at Skilled Stadium, 4.30pm

Tigers have announced they will be bringing a full strength available squad to Narrandera.
Including...Richo! cant wait to see some big points being kicked from him haha

Would be concerned about the state of the ground up there ...

I reckon the chances are the local shopping centre car park would be a softer surface than any footy ground out that way .

When was the last time it rained up there ?

A fair bit of recent times, the ground should be in primo shape.

No need to be concerned about the ground buddy.
The ground is in tip top shape and had a fair bit of rain considering and they have put in a lot of time and effort into it - its very very good playing surface. Prob the best country ground in Aus.
The majority of the grounds are in great condition in our area and Narrandera is leading the way.

No need to worry about the hard surface...as there isnt one!

Should get of ya arse and come for a look yourself and it may suprise you.

Seriously though...if it wasnt safe then the afl and both teams wouldnt have agreed to play there.

I`ll be going to narrendera this friday, if anyone wants to leave their mob. no. in a private message i will text scores to be posted on this sight

B Jake King Will Thursfield Kelvin Moore

HB Jordan McMahon Joel Bowden Chris Newman

C Richard Tambling Nathan Foley Mitch Morton

HF Matthew Richardson Cleve Hughes Kayne Pettifer

FF Jack Riewoldt Brett Deledio Nathan Brown

R Troy Simmonds, Shane Tuck, Dean Polo

I/C/emer: , Kane Johnson, Greg Tivendale, Adam Pattison, Andrew Raines, Graham Polak, Daniel Jackson
Cameron Howat, , Jarrod Silvester, Matthew White, Jay Schulz

That's how we roll in my humble opinion.

In the real stuff Polak would be ahead of Cleve for selection and Richo would be in a KP position but I want to see Cleve do something and let Richo gallop round the paddock like a stallion to leave some space in the forward line. To be honest I just want Polo in the thick of it so we can see if he still has it.

Good to see your heading up richo, and you can also tell all the non believers how actually good the ground is. I checked it out today and it is better than last year when the swans and pies played, and is actually raining here now!

The way I hope they line up:

B: King Thursfield Bowden

HB: McMahon Polak Moore

C: Tambling Johnson Newman

HF: Pettifer Hughes Morton

F: Brown Deledio Richo

R: Simmonds Tuck Foley

I: Raines Riewoldt Jackson Schulz Pattison Tivendale White Silvester Howat

Again I'm sticking with my protest at Polak being played up forward think he is better suited to CHB.

Use the game to give Hughes/Riewoldt/Schulz an opportunity to make CHF theirs.

The forwardline/backline needs to play as close to the round 1 set up as possible to give them time to work on their ability to play as a unit i.e. forwards not leading into the space of others, defenders knowing the traits of other defenders.
