We pushed Collingwood to the limit a few weeks ago without Jamo and Waite, and I believe that we would have won had we not hit the post so many times.
It can be done. It's a long shot, but I have faith. I'm more worried about getting past the lesser teams in the first couple of weeks in the finals.
I think the double chance is over-hyped. It is always better to win the qualifying final rather than lose it, as Collingwood did last year to go 3-0 in the finals to win the flag. We won't be playing a top4 side round one of finals, so I don't see us needing it. Obviously playing WCE in Subi looms as a challenge, but we have played well outside of Melbourne this year, and I'm confident we are up for the task. Always a chance WCE will be bruised after their game with Collingwood.
We should have an advantage as WCE will have had to travel to Melbourne and back to Perth to play us in the Semis, while we will have only made the one trip.
Of course, if we make it to a prelim then we will be at a disadvantage against the Cats, having travelled the previous round.
If we look beyond this year, a final vs West Coast at Subi is probably better experience for our development than a game against them in Melbourne. If its at Ethiad then we might lose again.
