Why does Freo "owe" Pav a flag

A lot of posts state that Pav may/will/should move to another club because he "deserves" a premiership for being so freaking good. But no one ever talks about Richo or Rob Harvey or I'm sure there are many other examples of good players in teams who haven't made it to a flag. I mean Buckley couldn't win a flag yet there was never talk of him leaving Collingwood to win a flag (which was of course ironic considering he left Brisbane to play there).
Surely part of what makes Pav good is that he drew a line in the sand and said I'm staying, who's with me. Isn't that what champions do?
If he was the sort to leave chasing a flag I might start believing all the H2F posts about him!

I understand your view. My view is Pav has shown extreme faith in Freo a few times now when he could have gone home and got success in Adelaide where he wants to be at sometime in his life.

Pav has been preety much a lone player at the club who stands up and puts the runs on the board. He has comented hes stayed at times coz he felt success was around the corner. That kinda requires a reciprical obligation.

Freo owes their supporters a flag! Well maybe not a flag - we are so far away from that, but some time in the top half of the table where we win more than we lose... I'd take that right now

If the rest of the team put in the effort and passion that Pav did and still fell short then we'd be happy that every stone had been turned over to win a premiership. He deserves better than to watch his team mates meekly concede when he passed up the opportunity to go to Adelaide
