Is it because by luring the likes of Zac Efron they are rating high with 14-16yo teeny boppers? (their main audience). Because other than them it surely can't rate that well.

Can't believe this unfunny piece of crap is still on our airways...

Bingo

The show doesn't rate particularly well, but it captures Ch 10's key audience and the audience of those that are running commercials during the show. If they stop watching, 10 should notice and then drop him.

What seems to be happening is that, the audience who find him funny when he is younger.... grow up and tire of his humour, yet are replaced by the next generation of young people who find him amusing.

It's a vicious cycle.

I thought he was alright in 2000/2001.... but from 2002 - onwards have been sick of his act.

I have to admit he is a pain to watch but has had some reasonable guest which is the only reason i watch and the fact I don't find much of the other stuff on 7,9, ABC or SBS very interesting at all.
On another note how obvious is it that the only reason that Carrie person is on is so it isn't all blokes everything she says during here segment is covered by canned laughter and not even that can save her when she attempts to say something funny from the couch.

Is anyone else sick of Dave Hughes bitching he had his moment in the sun about 3-4 years ago and has been doing the same crap ever since.

I guess he depends heavily on teeny boppers.
It also gets viewers purely because of its regulars - hamish and andy.
I'm sure if their was competition (aiming at a similar demographic) on fta it's ratings would get even worse.

This is my little thought of the show.....

Rove: Has his moments and is a pretty good host considering all the different segments the show has.

Peter: The show should be called "Peter" as he is the star of the show.

Hughesy: We all just love him coz hes a bogan, makes you laugh which is the main thing.

Carrie: If it wasnt for her being preety good looking she would be the worst panelist on TV ever, her segment is funny but the material isnt hers, always buts into conversations with needless comments.

Ryan: Very funny bloke, not sure if people understand his sense of humour but always manages to make me and my wife laugh.

Hamish and Andy: Bout time these guys have there own show again, non stop laughs when these guys are on.

Couldn't agree more. I nearly wet myself when he did the report on young people.

The day Rove is axed i will throw a raging party that would last the length of how long its been on TV.

All the people involved have overstayed their welcome as "comedians".

I'd only seen this once or twice back in the early days. Just now I've got digital, meaning I can see all Ten's programs.

So I tune in on Sunday night, it wasn't close to being funny and it only freaking went for 45 minutes. So not only is it a shit show, it's a bloody lazy one too.

And apparently Roving Enterprises is meant to be doing some 7pm/ 5 nights a week show for Ten (no idea what it consists of). If Rove is the best they can come up with over a week, how the hell can they put 30 minutes out every night.

Rove is a sure bet to be in top three for the 16-39 demographic each week.

Last week was #2 with 499,000 (behind So You Think You Can Dance - 528,000).

Also came in at #5 for the 25-54 demographic with 603,000.

So you can see why he attracts advertising $$$.

Not only that, but his overall numbers have been stronger this year.

Regularly pulling around 900,000-1,000,000 viewers each week...

I haven't watched television for years, so I have nfi, but any show that has Cathrine Deveney as a writer must be shit. She even made Get This a bomb on he ep she was on.

Agree with a lot of what Hullsy said.

Rove I don't think is that bad and isn't hilarious but doesn't have to be as he's just the host.
Pete is a funny guy although at times his material lets him down.
Hamish and Andy are just champions, A-Graders... bring back real stories!
Carrie, while she isn't funny, her segment is always hilarious and she is hot.
Ryan Shelton I also find funny.

So all in all its not a bad show, I don't see why people hate it so much. As for the whole Zac Efron type guests, I dont actually watch it for the guests unless its someone I am interested in. I watch for the segments such as Carrie at the News Desk, Pete's Space, Rydea's, Kevin Rudd PM and Hamish and Andy.

I always wondered who the **** watched Rove and then I was sitting in the room where my twelve year old son was watching it pissing himself at the unfunny jokes - I understand the demographic now
