Now I don't know if he's the right man for the job, or even if he is under consideration but that is hardly the C.V. of a dullard as some on here would have us believe, but hey no doubt I'll be accused of just playing the party line again by the "usual" suspects.

remove the 'not for profits' bicks and then re-assess.

Giving the job to Smart in my opinion would be a terrible idea. Now as we're free from the SANFL chains the main priority of our next CEO has to be growing our off field revenue. The football side of the role is important, but the main focus has to be trying to bridge the financial gap between us and the Collingwoods of the football world.

We need someone from a financial background that would come with totally new business ideas for the club.

If we didn't piss our fortunes away on the Westpac Centre, we could've bought some prime CBD land/real estate, set up a training facility and used it for after match functions and made a dollar out of it during the week.

Triggy really was poor. Makes his self-gratification in the last week so sickening.

For some reason I never really warmed to him. And he looks like Percy from Blackadder

He's perceived as being arrogant. Some supporters might like that, but as a CEO he has to deal with a lot of business people, and that kind of perception is hard to fight. Sticking up for the Club is fine, but you also have to have tact, and the ability to smooth ruffled waters. I'm not sure Smart has that kind of personality.
absolutely on the ball, its not to say he isnt valuable to the club, because i believe organisations need people with his appoach, however the captain at the helm must always know where his action will steer the ship, in smarts case, he likes to turn the wheel without having enough consideration for the consequences.

We should be in a position to buy Next Generation - but we are not.

How about leasing one of the Adelaide University ovals & building new facilities - once we can afford it...
