Why??

What is it with Sydney? Why have we struggedl to beat them over the last 8 or so years, And its not only that, It happens with Melbourne and the Bulldogs...

Today, Saddington stood up ( And I dont want to hear he plays like that every week) We seem to make average sides look good. I know Barry Hall is a Good player, but today we made him look a million dollars, if someone was watching from overseas they would of thought he was the greatest player in the game, (With the exception of Adam Goodes) they have no stars in that game.Dont tell me that Kirk is a premier tagger in the game, or Matthews is a star. But we made em look good again

as we do against Melbourne: Brad Green, Peter Walsh, Yze.

Bulldogs: Johnson kills us all the time, but he is a good player. But we make him look like a superstar. Murphy, and few others of their younger players.

Like last week with Carlton, Made Lappin, and Houlihan look like the greatest players in the game.

MAIN PROBLEM IS WE DONT MAN UP.

We had the problem last year with the midfielders just not manning up. In the first 2 weeks we did man up and won well. As each game has gone we have manned up less and less and today was woeful.

We should of done what Sydney did to us and that is remove two people from the forward line and push them into defense and have the wingers play on the defensive side and just give them no room to lead into in the forward line.

It is how Brisbane shut them down aswell. We just do not flood to put the handbrake on a bad situation so we just end up getting spanked.

Well done Tas.... you've picked up on what JYD refuses to do...provide a ROAD BLOCK I'm glad someone else on BF Roos has picked up on my hatred to seeing the opposition do it so easily without making some major tactical change. Next week is the same deal. If North don't play with a ROAD BLOCK ahead of Gehrig, then a BIG FAT L is staring North in the face !!

You will also notice the way the Swans make thier charge, from the HB line...it's been BLOODY OBVIOUS FOR TWO FLIPPIN' SEASONS !!! but do opposition team take notice ???? Pfffft !!  you don't respect the opposition YOU PAY BIG TIME !! time to pay attention to what's going on outside the four walls JYD !!

You've just demonstrated why people underrate the Swans, WK. Not many stars, but there probably isn't a team in the league that plays better as a team, going to each player's respective strengths.

Average players are only average if you do a job on them.

we are seen as average as well, and we were made to look it because we didn't work as a team. we looked a million dollars in the first 20 minutes of the game, the opposite happened after that. so really sydney is what we could have been today.

Sydney today put together the kind of game that we COULD have put together in Round 1 if we had better disposal. I really rate Sydney as a good TEAM. They have their system and it works.

Their secret, they RUN. They run in packs and they are extremely well drilled at handballing in close. Their ability to get the ball out of congestion and get it moving quickly is second to none in the league.

It's a frustrating brand of football to watch as an opposition supporter because you really just want one of your players to crunch them, but they're just too quick with their hands.

There was a sense of inevitability about them scoring once one of their (many) runners was streaming through the middle of the ground. Their delivery into the forward 50 was also of very high quality.

I think a lot of us need to face up to the fact that - for the first time this year - we just came up against a team that was better than us. That's not to say that we couldn't beat Sydney, we clearly could, but Sydney are a good team, they were damn close to being Grand Finalists last year and we just got beaten by a quality side.

As the season progresses, it's becoming increasingly apparent that the teams that we've beaten probably are bottom 8 (if not bottom 4) teams. Adelaide 0-4, Hawthorn 1-3, Carlton 1-3. The next month will tell us a lot about where we stand, not just the win/loss ratio, but the way the games pan out.
