Imagine being on an AFL club list for 8 years, without ever making it to the 100 game milestone.
Being there amongst the greats of the club, watching the legends retire, and watching the young kids emerge.
He must have looked upon Craig Bradley when he played his 350th, hoping that one day, he would be able to achieve this very same feat.
But, unfortunately for Simon Wiggins, the only Carlton player remaining from the 2000 draft, form and injuries have taken their toll.
Wiggins, aged 25, is set to play his 100th match against the Bulldogs, being only the 153rd Carlton player to do so.
The Boys of the West, sitting in second position have been in excellent form winning four of their last 5 matches, whilst the Boys in Blue, who are six premiership points out the eight, have only won two of their last five, with their last two matches rather close losses.
Its a tough ask for Carlton to come out and win, but its not impossible. The Blues are due for a win, after a devastating loss to Sydney the week earlier, but the Doggies, who are favourites to win, will hopefully fire back after their 60point loss to Geelong down at Kardinia Park.
Whatever the case may be, win lose or draw, one can only hope for a terrific and entertaining game, to hopefully give Simon a game he can remember.
GO THE WIGGLER!
its about time
