Imagine being on an AFL club list for 8 years, without ever making it to the 100 game milestone.
Being there amongst the greats of the club, watching the legends retire, and watching the young kids emerge.
He must have looked upon Craig Bradley when he played his 350th, hoping that one day, he would be able to achieve this very same feat.
But, unfortunately for Simon Wiggins, the only Carlton player remaining from the 2000 draft, form and injuries have taken their toll.
Wiggins, aged 25, is set to play his 100th match against the Bulldogs, being only the 153rd Carlton player to do so.
The Boys of the West, sitting in second position have been in excellent form winning four of their last 5 matches, whilst the Boys in Blue, who are six premiership points out the eight, have only won two of their last five, with their last two matches rather close losses.
Its a tough ask for Carlton to come out and win, but its not impossible. The Blues are due for a win, after a devastating loss to Sydney the week earlier, but the Doggies, who are favourites to win, will hopefully fire back after their 60point loss to Geelong down at Kardinia Park.
Whatever the case may be, win lose or draw, one can only hope for a terrific and entertaining game, to hopefully give Simon a game he can remember.

GO THE WIGGLER!

takes a lot of crap from a lot of posters and weather he deserves it or not i am rapt that he has managed to do this and hope like hell he plays a blinder, if he does it will be the only one he has or will play, as i think he will be gone next season, but hell he bleeds blue blood.

Good on you Wiggo. Not the most talented guy going around but a real testament to the fact that hard work, determination and a great attitude can take you just as far as natural talent.

You have busted your gut for the Navy Blue jumper and earnt every game you have played for the club. Going on recent form, I still think Wiggo has a future at the club.

Congrats to the wiggler on his 100th, has a big blue heart and gives his all in every game. has finally found a role in the team after being a plugging holes player under pagan, where he was played out of position IMO, yet still stuck his head over the pill time and time again.

go the wiggler.

well done to wiggins great effort.

if only some of his team mates had his work ethic and dedication we would be a lot better off.

also love what ratts said about wiggo

“You don’t know if Wiggo’s going to get 100 kicks or 100 possessions, but if you go to war with Wiggo you know he’s there fighting for you every step of the way and that’s what I love about him and I think the players love that too,”

this i think is why everyone loves the wiggler. :thumbsu:

well deserved Should be played as a permanent forward in place of fisher. just as good a mark, good speed, good kick for goal usually, tackles and harrasses more and you always know you will get 100% effort:thumbsu:

Note that in the press conference, Ratten said to Wiggo that he didn't realise he was out of contract and that he would have to take a look at that for him. I didn't hear the question asked but I wonder if Ratts just painted himself into a corner?
