Has finally cemented his spot in the side and is showing why we picked him at were we did great game from him Murph is going to win Brownlows very soon in years to come definitely the rising star for this year.Fev,Scotland,Whitnall,Eddie,Stevens and Walker Very good game i'm still trying to recover from the loss

yep tough loss.

i wouldn't say he's cemented his spot yet, definantly goes in hard and shows plenty of heart though. i like him playing up farward as a third or fourth farward maybe a kane pettifer type.

He hasn't absolutely cemented his spot, but he'll be back next year.

That's something you wouldn't have put any money on, at the start of the season.

He's been solid. Shows good hardness and attacks the ball head on. I'm not on his bandwagon yet though. I want to see some more continued improvement with his kicking, and especially handballing.

He can line up against the Kanga's though.

I loved his attack on the ball yesterday. He really showed the way early. Some of his second and third efforts were brilliant. He definitely deserves another year at least, but he still needs to improve his disposal a bit.

Well he definantly showed why the club has stuck with him. Definantly some great attacking talent that the blues can use.

Went inside 50 many times and was instrumental to our early lead. Great game, well done.

Lets settle down a bit people. It makes me really glad to see Wiggins playing some good football, but he has a long way to go before i would be saying "now i understand why he was a first round pick."

Fingers crossed he can start becomming a regular who puts in each week, however i am not going to jump out of my skin after 3 good weeks. Little premature people, but at the same time its glad to see him showing the right signs!!

If it wasn't already decided, this has confirmed Justin Davies position on the scrap heap at the end of the year. Davies gets the role Wiggins played yesterday but Wiggins did it better.

wiggins needs to go at the end of the year with the clean out... to do nothing over the last 3 years and then to all of a sudden show some good attitude and skill when his head is on the chopping block is no reason to retain him...

throw him into the draft i reckon... maybe we can get massie back, maybe we can ship him off to st kilda for goddard haha

you really have no idea do you?

"all of a sudden show some good attitude" ....? the kid has only ever shown good atttitude and has probably been his saving grace on our list. Attitude and courage has never been a question with Wiggins, neither has his influence at VFL level. It's just been a matter of stepping up and having some of that same influence for Carlton. Now he is starting to make the jump between the 2 levels and you'd like to get rid of him.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm watching a different game then some of you people.

Was sitting with a west coast supporter yesterday at the game who asked me who "new young" bloke was giving Nicoski the run around early was (after Nic was given a huge write up in the local paper). I thought he showed a lot yesterday and is heading to be a good player.

To talk about trading after finally showing after 3 years and giving someone else a ready made player would be stupid!

These young blokes will take us back to where we belong in the longer term.

wiggins is a good VFL player and thats it... he puts in a couple of good games and all of a sudden everyone is back on the bandwagon... similar things happened early in the year when bentick racked up a coupld of solid games now all of a sudden he is too slow for the game blah blah... look at wiggins track record, too inconsistant and for me has never shown anything to warrant a permanent spot, if he stays he will be a fringe player for the rest of his days... but hey prove me wrong, im willing to eat my words if it involves the blues rising from the ashes!

If this is your criteria, I can make a case for getting rid of every single player on our list bar Murphy.

Did you want Fev delisted over the past few years? Did you want us to cut our losses and get rid of Whitnall? Both terribly inconsistent and seemingly with irretrievable careers.

I suggest we give credit when it is due and save the criticism for when it is again deserved.

Oh and you also lose credibility points for the Massie suggestion or even joking that we could trade Wiggins for Goddard.

fev has always been a match winner and i would of been shattered if they let the shag go... whitnall im big raps for and remember last year he had basically no preseason and still had a resonable year based on that fact...

both have sensational football brains, whitnalls is up there with the best... but in terms of cutting losses, wiggins along with livingston, davies, prendergast and bannister, never been big fans and need to be apart of the clean out

Has improved a fair bit & deserves his spot in team & for next year as well.

He has great pace on the lead & seemed to kick with some distance on a few occassions, maybe his accuracy is a concern if so then play him across half forward.

Maybe needs to work on his fitness as he seemed to die a bit in 2nd half.

Prendergast - gone
Chambers - gone
Longmuir - gone
Davies - gone
Sporn - gone
Koutoufides - retire
Smith - gone (rookie)
Batson - gone (rookie)

Teague - gone if uncontracted next year
Livingston - keep as a back up big man
Bannister - playing for future right now
Bryan - jury still out
DeLuca - is contracted for next season.
Saddington - pretty sure he is contracted for next year
McGrath - jury still out
Wiggins - keep him, only if he maintains his current form.

I'd say at least one of Teague, Bannister, McGrath & Wiggins are also gone.

That would be 7 off the senior list & two rookies. Obviously, any trades might changes things slightly, but I can't imagine any more than 7 senior delistings, even though some might warrant delisting.

The fact is that over the last 6 games Wiggo has definitely put his hand up. I don't if the people who criticize his disposal actually watch Carlton games but it has been a feature of his play. He has a low error rate (slightly better than Murph's I think) and some of his long kicking have been the best I've seen from a Carlton player this year.

However, while he deserves all the plaudits for kick starting our game against the Weagles, his disappearance from the radar (stats-wise) could be a worry. After dominating the first quarter, he only picked up about 4 possies and one tackle over the next three . There may well be a reasonable explanation for this that I'm not aware of.

All in all, if you're a Carlton supporter who knows when he's watching a game of footy, you'd have to very happy with his performances so far. Let's hope he can keep on lifting.

Wiggins has done enough to warrant another season.

You can only "clean" out roughly 8-10 players without causing too much disruption to the list and players. It's going to take 2 years to truly clean out the list of the deadwood.

Living London its hard to watch a game in one sitting, friggin telstra. Watched the first quater last night and lets face it was a one man show. This bloke, Wiggins was it and then some. Twice delivered from the wing to th goal square, Fev marked one, should've left it like the second. This guys performance was one of the best in the AFL for one quater, dead set. Anyone want to argue watch it again first. Unbeleivable. If he died later on NO KIDDING, did you see what he did at the start. Anyone would have been stuffed.

This guy stays.

Yes, he was very good, but one of the best performancess in the AFL for one quarter? You have got to be kidding me

Would have thought he has surprised just about all of us here on BF with his form over the past month or so. I was almost certain he would be delisted at years end, but IMO, think he should be retained.

Too many now ahead of him that will delisted. Davies, Chambers, Longmuir, Sporn, Teague, Bryan and Prendergast. And Kouta will probably retire.

Well yes captain reactionary. Think about it. It was one of the most amazing performances of the round easily. This performance was exemplified by the opening quater of the game, and Wiggins was the standout for that quater.
