Adelaide 10th 32 points, 92.58%
Poort Adelaide 11th 32 points, 78.58%

Adelaide:
Round 21 - Collingwood @ MCG, Saturday night
Round 22 - St Kilda @ AAMI, Saturday afternoon

Poort Adelaide:
Round 21 - Melbourne @ AAMI, Sunday afternoon
Round 22 - Richmond @ Etihad, Sunday afternoon

We are unlikely to win either of our remaining matches, with Collingwood currently talked up as Premiership favourite (not convinced myself, still think Geelong will walk it in) and St Kilda pretty good, they flew today against North. Two top four teams, not likely to get anymore wins for the year.

Poort have Melbourne... 10th, being 8 wins / 11 losses / 1 draw. Getting better and will be a great team in a few years, but still young and inconsistent. They can win away, but simply based on ladder position, I'll say Melbourne will win this one. After all, Poort barely beat WCE last night. Against Richmond (15th), another young team on the way up that aren't there yet... Port may win that game, but away...

I can't see many wins for either team for the rest of the year. Port are more likely to pick up a game than we are, which will give them more points. Our far superior percentage won't matter, they will end the season above us. This will mean a summer of having to listen to idiots bad-mouth my superior team, which I find unacceptable. Whatever shall we do?

Unfortunately, we will only have ourselves to blame after letting the spuds win both Showdowns...

Not sure we should really care. Not much of a badge of honour.

Yeah... really don't care

they'll probably beat Melbourne. they always get flogged over here.

Melbourne travel terribly and are even worse at AAMI. Port aren't in that great form either so that game could go either way IMO. Richmond should beat them in RD22. Port are still terrible away from home.

We are absolutely no chance against Collingwood. Not sure against St. Kilda. Going by form, you'd think they'd flog us too but you never know; Goody and McLeod could possibly be back for their farewell games and we are known to lift for the big occasions (farewell games, 300 games etc.)

As much as it pains me to concede it i think Port will finish high than us on the ladder unless we can have a couple of upset wins. How much did today's game take out of the players?
Collingwood are due for a loss but they have a damm good record against us. When Collingwood win it's usually a comfortable win. So if we lose badly we are going to lose quite a bit of percentage. Probably a Collingwood win.

I think we can have an upset win against St Kilda. With the emotion of fare welling our retiring champions, especially if they play. To beat them though we will have to play at our best.

I think Port will beat both Melbourne and Richmond. Some of Port's players will be playing for their careers and trying to win so Matty Primus will get the coaching gig next season.

McLeod probably won't play (ever again) :(. Goodwin is hoping to. But there's no doubt the players will lift. Maric, when asked about this last game, got a little bit choked up at the thought of farewelling our great champions. Also St Kilda may not send their A team across the border the week before the finals.

To beat Collingwood is a MASSIVE ask - particularly now we've lost Vince and Knights as well! But strange things have happened this year. You only have to look at our Geelong game for evidence of that!

Who cares!!!!

No finals = Fail

Probably better to finish below the Powa = Earlier pick in the draft!! :o

McLeod returned to the training track last week and is a possibility of playing against St Kilda.

Does it really even matter?

For the record, I think we will. But it doesn't mean much.

Actually Adelaide and Port Adelaide are 11th and 12th respectively, not 10th and 11th as quoted by the OP.

Personally, I see no honour in finishing in either position or in either order. We've both had poor seasons irrespective of who finishes above who.

We're not likely to win another game, so IMO only Port can change the current order.

If Port win one more game and we don't, all it means is that we have a crack at the draft before them, and not after them.

Perhaps it would be a good thing after all.

I think it all comes down to Port, as they have some winnable games coming up (even for them) but they have a habit of screwing them up. I can see them winning one of their next two to finish out the season on top of us. To be honest I really couldn't care less, there are more benefits in us finishing below them.
