Guess what, I've heard a rumour.

One Victorian club is in serious financial trouble. (Strange) and it comes from a reliable source at another Melbourne based Football Club

This club budgetted for 30,000 members, and got less than 18,000

Unlike others, this club's membership is not underwritten by the AFL for the loss of Waverley.

This club also plays home games at Colonial and signed a ten year agreement before the season began.

One thinks that this club will start yet another survival campaign in the next year or so.

One thinks that soon there may not be a team representing the working class of Melbourne.

No Bulldogs?

What will the tribunal do?

Sounds like the scraggers. They and the Afl said , that this year was a make or break year for them. They had massive debt at that time. Now they can't turn a profit weekly at Dogland, they can't attract a large enough crowd.
Another round of tin shaking wont save them this time.

I love the 'hawks in trouble' rumours

May we still be hearing them in 50 years time ?

They exist in the 'unacheivable' wish list at the AFL7, but not in reality

Don't like the Puppies but I couldn't bear to see them go.

If they do then lay the blame squarely at the feet of the AFL Cmmission because they fed Dave Smorgon and the Board a total pack of lies to get them to move to Docklands.

From the sounds of the topic, one would assume that the person who began this topic would be happy that this "rumour" is taking the focus of his own club.

It would not only be sad to see a club like the bulldogs die, potentially the future development of the competition would be at risk. Many Victorians are disenchanted already and I think that bulldog supporters would not be the only ones to cease following the competition.

Sainter, it ain't the cats (for once). There is no doubt they will playing Melbourne based home games out of the MCG from next year.

And it ain't Hawthorn, isn't their membership underwritten by the AFL this year?

I'd hate to see the scraggers go, but it was revealed by a reliable source at a Meblourne based club and backed up by another one from outside the football club.

I think it may be time for them to bring back Terry Wheeler!
