No chance. Connolly has said that 11 wins might be enough, so even if we fall to 6-11 he will coach us in round 18.

11 wins will see us in bottom 8. We can only afford to lose 1 more game this year. We have Adelaide in Adelaide and Geelong at Subiaco, we are gone, CC is gone along with the 30+ brigade.

CC should jump before he gets pushed.

A decision needs to be made on Connolly's future by round 18 that way we can give Mark Harvey the oppurtunity of filling the coaching position next year.

i think if the club don't want to appoint harvey next year who by the way failed to get the freo coaching gig over CC the first time ( by memory he pulled out of the race for the job, correct me if i'm wrong) then let CC stay till years end and go out with some dignity, we don't need to be sacking coaches unless there is as distinct benefit.
besides his mate the CEO would't allow it

It'd be too late by Rd 18, nearly too late now. If they want to give Harvey a go then its gotta happen this week or next or not at all IMO.

Look who's the CEO - Cameron Schwab. Great mate of CC. The same HACK of a CEO who lost us $$'s over recruting a 29 y/old Fabian Francis just 1 month into his new position. The same CEO who grabbed us Trent Croad & let go the #1 draft pick which could have given us Judd or Hodge. The same CEO who nabbed Tarrant & Solomon in yet anotehr "super" draft.

Look who's President - Rick Hart. As soft as David Mundy in a tackle.

Not good news for me with this. Cannot see whats the use in keeping CC on anymore. Just logged on and was hoping to hear that he was no longer the coach.

Harvey should be given a go until the end of the year, to see what he can do.
 
I thought it was a certainty until I read this thread.

I can't see anything happening other than Connolly resigning. His position as coach is now untenable - the season's over, his contract will not be renewed, and another insipid performance by a group of players clearly not committed to playing for him.

I think we need an ENTIRELY fresh start. A coach that doesn't know the players personally.

When Malthouse hit the Eagles he did a massive cull. We need an Eastern States coach to come in and clean up the ****ing mess... again. Someone entirely independent. A proven Coach that can tell the Board, when they are looking over his shoulder... to **** off.

Agree with you suma, on Plugga's post. I generally blame CC as not having the ability to coach. But maybe its deeper than that and Plugga is right.

We don't need a massive cull. We just need a smart operator that can get the best out of our great list. The premiership window is still open IMO and providing we are smart during this years trading period it can still be open for a few years yet.

Jeffle - good points. Does anybody have any idea or hear talk that the board interferes with CC and the coaching decisions. Would be interested to hear views from others.

If this happens, then it is a ****ing disaster. The coach should coach and the board administers and stays the hell off the football park.

Keep telling yourself that.

Today proved to me that our problems run deeper than our Coach.

We do need to look at the Board. The fact that history just continues to repeat with every (Catholic) coach.

Ben Allan and Tony Buhagiar are our most knowledgeable board members, but neither stick their nose in during selection time. Schwab and Connolly sleep in bunk beds together, so Schwab may give his opinion on selections but he wouldn't insist on having an input.

Connolly has the final say, full stop so he gets the bouquets and the brick bats....the rest is speculative bullshit.

If people honestly believe the CEO and the president are running the selections they need to get off the crack.
