Howdy Folks, So I've been thinking,

If results go as they should, and we pull of a win over Freo (which we SHOULD, although the Pies of 2008 who are expected to win generally don't! I think things are starting to turn, however) This is also assuming Adelaide knock off Footscray, and Port Adelaide don't pull off the near impossible (it is their first game at the MCG this year I believe?)

This is how week one of the finals should look:

Geelong Vs North @ MCG
Hawthorn Vs Bulldogs @ Telstra Dome?
Collingwood Vs Sydney @ MCG
Adelaide Vs St.Kilda @ AAMI

So again on Form Geelong defeats North, Hawthorn beat Footscray, the Pies beat our bunnies and Adelaide win at home....

Semi Final Week:

North Melbourne Vs Collingwood @ MCG Friday Night
Footscray Vs Adelaide @ Telstra Dome/MCG Saturday Day/ Night

Prelim Week:

Geelong Vs Footscray/Adelaide
Hawthorn Vs North/Collingwood

I know I'm assuming a lot, but north are a great side and having watched them play us a few weeks ago, they were just too good. Finals is a different ball game I know, but we'll have to bring our best.

All this of course can be avoid if Port Pull off a win on Saturday :D

what we need is for the bulldogs to defeat hawthorn and put them in the same side of the draw as geelong.hopefully we can do the business on our side of the draw by taking care of our opponents and geelong can get rid of hawthorn.i fancy ourselves more against geelong than i do hawthorn.time will tell but i just hope we can hold our form for the next month or so.our form from the past three weeks could be deceiving, we have beaten an inconsistent saints, a terrible port side and sydney who we have the wood over, but as they say winning form is good form.

A lot depends on whether the club stick to the ban on Heater and Dids, and I think a fair bit of that will depend on how they see Rocca going.

If Rocca's going to be able to manage to run out a finals series and Didak and Heath come in then our structure, experince and line up all look a lot better.

Out Toovey Dawes Shazza and Cook

In Heath Rocca Rhyce and Dids.

I think if Rocca is not going to be fit, we may use this finals series to really drive the message home to the boys who stuffed up as well as get some invaluable finals experince into some of the kids.

Intrestingly going on that J-mac IMO would retain a spot in the finals regardless of whether we brought players back or not which is pretty impressive for a 3rd game/ first year player.

If we get over whoever we play in the Elimination final, which isn't a definate win by any stretch, we play against North, who have beaten us twice this year. The first game we really should have won and the second they were too good. I don't really see us getting over the top of them....

Pessimistic?

We can beat them. We were quite bad against them in the second match. We just have to beat Freo, and then Sydney first. But when it comes to it, I know that we can beat the Roos. We will bring back Alan Didak, and he will kick the winner with seconds to spare. Redemption will be glorious!

As CT said, maybe we should worry about it one week at a time, since its finals and its knockout.

We have Fremantle this week, and its not a certainty, especially since Burns will miss, and there is a likelihood that MM will rest Daisy instead of flying him out to WA, which I believe would be very smart for the type of player he is.

Also, I wouldn't be so confident about facing St Kilda, Swans and the Crows in the first week because we've had the wood over them in the last year or so, makes them more dangerous to us in finals time.

Heres hoping that Port can do the unexpected against the Roos this week because the Cats are the team I'd be wanting to face in the first week of the finals, especially since we get another chance if we lose + a week off for the younger bodies if we win.

Need the win this week not only to keep the momentum going but to finish in the 4-6 range and assure a Melbourne final.

If we finish 7-8 we may cop an interstate final in week 1 in Adelaide or Sydney. As good as our recent record interstate is and against these two sides it would mean 3 interstate trips in 4 weeks, which just could be too much.

On the flip side if we do win this week it would be 4 wins on the trot. If North wins and we miss the top 4 it would be Elimination finals each week from then on. So to get to take out the big one from there would mean 8 wins on the trot. Can't see that happening. Only have ourselves to blame for dropping winnable games and missing top 4.

Adelaide knock of Footscray? Hmm ..

I think we will finish 5th, Saints 6th, Swans 7th, Adelaide 8th

Only went for them on the basis of it being Adelaide's home game. I don't think the Bulldogs record is too fantastic over in Adelaide is it?
