Here is what I think will happen.

vs Richmond @ subi - win
vs Bulldogs @ td - loss
vs Carlton @ subi - win
vs Sydney @ scg - loss
vs Kangaroos @ subi - win
vs Adelaide @ aami - loss
vs Geelong @ subi - win
vs West Coast @ subi - loss
vs Essendon @ subi - win
vs St Kilda @ td - win
vs Melbourne @ subi - win
vs Port @ aami - loss

That's 11-11 will that be enough?

well.....

it's gonna be tough...

we can ... anyone can besides Tigers and Demons...........

The clock is ticking...

However we'll have to adopt a Henry Rollins toughness attitude to get there......

Do the boy have said toughness.... I like to think so

We're a chance against Doggies in Darwin (although I'm going to that game, and don't have a good record at interstate games so far), and we'll win at least 1 of the aami games. It'lll be tough though.

Yeah we may beat Adelaide but we may get reamed by the Cats at subi too.

No. No you won't.

Problem for you lot is, several other clubs seemed to have improved since last season. Geelong, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Collingwood.
And West Coast and Adelaide will be there, and Sydney and the Bulldogs are playing better footy than Freo and a game or 2 ahead of you.

I don't think 11 wins will be enough.

have to agrre i think our time has passed the competition id so even this year and we are not winning enough to put ourselves firstly in the running and secondly to compete with those in the eight

I voted yes.

As it stands we have to win the rest of the games at Subi to even get a look in.
We will need some results going our way which has happened already in round 10.

We might even become slime supporters because whichever Club they beat will have an effect on ladder placements. Today is an example. Next week against the Bombers the cycle starts again.

So I hate to say it from now on I'll be tipping toast.

I'm still confident that we'll make it. We were shit for the first 8 weeks, but have been pretty good in the last 2 games. I reckon we'll come home with a wet sail, finish with 12 or 13 wins but will only play one or two finals. Then Connolly will get a two year deal. :(

If we lose any of the next 3 it will become difficult, the match in Darwin is a massive game for both clubs.

Hopefully it doesn't come down to round 22 v Port again.

If we made the finals and won one, then I would like Connolly's contract extended, but hopefully for one year, or two if there is a condition along the lines of making a Prelim extends it for the second year. All of this would be conditional on Pavlich supporting this by signing his contract.

Connolly probably wouldn't accept a one year deal or an out-clause. I guess we have that much money that it wouldn't matter if we sack him a year into a two year deal anyway. We are probably going to be paying Longmuir $600,000 to live on a farm in Cunderdin. :(

It would have to be a very close loss against a good side in week two for me to be happy for Connolly to stay on.

Top four is now almost impossible. The best case scenario at this stage is to finish 6th, and the eagles finish top. Then we need both WA teams to win in week one of the finals, that way we'd play an "away" prelim at Subi if we win away in week two of the finals.

I'd like to know how much influence the players will have on whether Connolly gets an extension or not. I guess the board would get a vibe from how they carry themselves during training and around the club. Ben Allan will certainly know if the players want Connolly to continue.

It's interesting that McPharlin a couple of weeks ago was the first player who has backed Connolly off his own bat. Obviously if a player is asked if they support the coach they will say yes, but some players body language in the past has looked more like they were towing the company line than speaking from the heart. McPharlin seemed to open the discussion, and looked genuine in his support.

I think the guys that Connolly has shown a lot of faith in (Thornton, Farmer, Headland, Sandilands, Schammer, Solomon, Tarrant) would really support him, but I'm not sure that Connolly's relationship is strong with Bell, McManus, Cook, Pavlich and the Carr's. I'd say those players would prefer to play under Sheedy or Pagan than Connolly, although atleast two of them won't be here next year anyway.

With a few teams looking unlikely to win too many more games this year -Richmond, Brisbane, Carlton (and possibly Melbourne) I would think that 13 wins will probably be needed to make the 8.
