Unfortunatly i'll be away for the week so i won't get to attend this game.

A real star studded line up there for Willy, with players far too good for reserves playing in the 2's, such as Matt Little at FF, O'Shea is too good for VFL ressies, same with Sam Reid.

Hopefully Mal Lynch can get back to some good form and press for Willy firsts, big games for Williams, Ray & Everitt as well.

I met actually head down to watch the seniors play at 2. If I do i will make sure to come back with a written report.

Thought Tiller and Eagleton might've played for Williamstown this week. Tiller since he's played every game there and Eagleton since he's missed a couple of senior games and gets lower time on ground than most so could've possibly done with the run if he's not carrying anything.
Anyway, good chance for the kids and the returning injured players to show themselves off since no doubt Rocket and all the coaching staff will be there.

lol, I think he'll be okay, all the players named on the bench in the seniors get name in the reserves too. Also, is that Free Admission for all people or just all members? (not that it'll make any difference to me) Is it meant to be a mothers day gift or something?

Free admission for all, as a part of Community Round.

How do some of you guys who watch Williamstown a bit think Brennan Stack is going? Named on the extended bench with the seniors and on the ground for the ressies. I would have hoped he'd be pressing for a game with the Dogs especially after, from all reports, a good pre-season. He is a good size and looks to have a bit of pace about him. I'll have to be patient I guess.

What's the go with Lynch? I thought he was going to kick on this season after showing promising signs last year. Disappointing to find him languishing in the Williamstown reserves.

Lynch has been injured and has only been back a couple of weeks. I hope he can build some form through the season, super potential.

I think he is coming along nicely. He has been used as a HBF but could play in a variety of positions in the coming seasons. He has been a bit inconsistent but some of his better games have been quite good. He is still only 19 and I think we he do OK. Huge leap and good pace.

Has got all the abilities but i'm starting to question if he's got the mental attributes to apply himself enough to succeed.

I think interestingly with a couple of our indigenous recruits we are starting to see a few second year blues, while others have started to kick on a bit.

But having said that stack played last year at werribee reserves and 1 or 2 games in seniors and looked a bit at sea. He's played all year at senior level so far and has been ok without starring. That is an improvement, although i'd just like to see him really turn it on.

Lynch has been injured but i'm worried he's not applying himself enough.

Harbrow has also been injured but i certainly can't question his commitment, i think he'll be a champ, just needs to learn to steady himself and some extra body weight will help as well.

Hill has really improved as we all know but last few weeks has lacked a bit of intensity that he showed at the start of the season. I want to see him jump in front of packs again and win more of his own ball.

As far as some of the other recruits go, i think we'll see ward and o'keefe play for the dogs within the next 5-6 weeks. O'keefe is a ball magnet, only needs to show a bit more defensive ability, and ward is class personified. We've already seen ward as emergency 3 or 4 times, and from the tv footage he was close to getting a game in sydney as well. Eade was quick to grab him into the victory huddle after the game.

Everitt hasn't looked good all year, and now isn't really fit, so will be a while before we see him at the dogs.
Normally i would say williams is underdone and needs 3-4 games at willy to find some form but i said this last year when he came back and he was promoted after 2 games even though his form didn't warrant it. He seems to be an exception and someone the match commitee just want to put straight in to the dogs side. To do this i believe either wight or hargrave would have to make way. I'd be worried if i was shaggy.

Ray is pretty much ready to get in, i'd swap him straight for eagleton after his performance against the swans where he single handedly gave the swans 3 goals due to his poor kicking and fumbled "footsteps!" attempt at a mark.

One of the problems of having such a stable and well performing 22 is that some blokes might drop their heads and give up on breaking in to the side. I think we've got some pretty talented young guys running around in the magoos and I hope they are being nurtured (yes, I know it's up to them too).
Matty Boyd would be a great person to speak to about making the most of your chances. The knee reco guys would also be good to speak to about staying focused when playing 1st grade footy seems a long way away.

The Doggies are in a better position than previous years though with Brad Gotch's job riding of these players development.

REMEMBER, this game is FREE Admission, so it's worth while going along, especially against good opposition like Sandy - could be a cracker.

If your not going or can't make it to the game, you can listen on the internet at www.doublex.com.au to the call from 1pm (2pm Bounce... I think!)

If you can go - GO!

it's certainly a good problem to have though.

i wish brad would speak up a little though, i can't hear a word he says in the huddles.

I talked to him on Wednesday night and he is very determined to succeed which is a great sign. He had that foot injury last season and then came back 2 weeks early which set him back even further. He was playing some good footy this year before he injured a finger but should be right to go now. He is only 19 and I cannot see anything else other than an upside with him.

Yes, you get the feeling that it'll very much be a softly softly approach for Brennan. He's going to be an exciting long term prospect, and it's very pleasing to hear his attitude is positive, considering he is now the only of the Aboriginal quartet yet to debut. His time will come soon enough though, and I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait.

Very strong wind favouring Williamstown in the final quater meant we sort of blew them away in the last quater.

Callan Ward took a knock in a marking contest about half way through the final quater and had to go off with the blood rule. He looked ok though and was able to run off the field, however, he didn't come back on and I didn't see him with the team on the ground after the game.

Williamstown FB (wears no. 25) was very good from what I saw. Williams was solid, impressed me with his kicking. Everitt didn't stand out as much although I'm still putting that down to his hair cut. Stack was very good late and O'Keefe was also solid.

Went to the game today. Huge last quarter by Williamstown, crusing to a 64-point win.

Farren Ray found form today, got a fair bit of the ball and used it extremely well.

Skipper was good also, presented well and generally used the ball well. He's stiff that Minson is playing well, otherwise he'd be getting a game for the Doggies.

Ward is simply a genius. Didn't dominate, but everytime he was near the ball he was impressive. Went off with the blood rule in the last quarter after taking a strong mark. Kicked a couple of goals and will play 200+ games for the Doggies.

Harbrow was very good today. Kept his feet every time there was a contest, and seemed to win all of his possessions in contested situations. He was very evasive, quick and skillful.

O'Keefe had a solid hitout. Didn't dominate but, like Ward, seemed to use it well and do something special when he had the ball. Should make his seniour debut this year.

McDougall was a dud. Should be delisted at the end of the year.

Everitt and Williams were OK - still finding their feet and will be a few weeks away from playing at the Bulldogs.

Stack, now here is an excitement machine. Very, very, classy young man. Impressed me a whole lot. Love these indigeneous kids. Both he and Harbrow were by far the classiest, exciting guys out there. Stack will absolutely, most definitely, make his debut either this year or next.

Street was actually quite solid as well. One of the better players on the ground, but Skipper was the dominant big man.

For some reason Grant didn't play.

Just got back from Williamstown, live on the other side of the city so the first time I've been. Ward had a good game, looks ready to jump into the dogs. Also thought O'Keefe and Stack had good games, esspecialy Stack. Everrit was really good today, also ready to jump into the dogs. Street had a good game. I thought Williams was average, still needs a couple of games in the Seagulls. Oh and Farren Ray was also very good, looks about ready to come back in.
