I reckon its more 80%-20% with most thinking he is ****, although on internet sites its 99%-1% :p

i reckon if you read over the last 30 odd post it seems to be more like 50/50 here

80-20 would be with football supporters in general. Then again most of them dont think any of the clokes or shaws can play

Anyway I enjoyed the debate last night. I have a newborn I was trying to settle and it kept me sane in between breaks.
How old? My boy is 5 months now, and has only started sleeping through the night after a VERY LONG 5 months including three different mothercraft nurses and one stint at a sleep school!

She's only 9 days old, So thanks Matt you have given me 5 months of sleepless nights to look forward to. Althought she was pretty good last night, hope it continues

J.Cloke should be traded if possible. If we were no chance of making the finals this year I would play him and rest Presti/Wakelin as much as possible so that his trade value is up.
We have too many medium defenders who are above Jason in the status quo, they are namely Clement, Maxwell and O'Brien. J.Cloke needs to prove he can hold FB or CHB and keep his oponent out of the game. He can do this and much more at VFL level, but a defender needs consecutive games to get confidence.

One last off-topic post:
ant, everyone's different. My best friend's daughter was sleeping through the night from six week, so you never know what you'll get. Good luck with it all, it's an amazing journey (and mine is still so early as well..) :thumbsu:

On topic:
At this stage (and that may change both this year and next year) Jason's best shot at being a regular player of AFL is at another club. Agree that Clement, Presti, Wakes, Maxwell are all ahead of him, so it's hard to be another 'tall', especially with not that many teams playing very tall forward lines. However, with Wakes finishing up, and Presti with another 3 years (perhaps more?) left, a spot will open up. Harry is in the best position, because he can afford to be a bit-part player for the next two years (due to injuries etc) and then establish himself. Jason doesn't have that time, and needs to step up now. I'd love to see him permanently in the Black and White, but whatever will be, will be.

I for one have not wriiten J Cloke off. We over-rate O'Brien at this stage of his development - he's not yet even on the senior list!!, Wakelin is 31, and Presti and Clement will be 29 next year. Maxwell is also unproven - he's had one good year so far - even J Cloke had one good year. Behind them theres almost nobody - Anthony is a first year player, Hall and Walker are write-offs, and T Cloke and C Cloke are probably unsuited to defence.

I reckon there may be still room for J Cloke to succeed at Collingwood still, despite his deficiencies. And time. Hes still young which everybody seems to forget.

I agree 100% with your comments Timmy but it will have to come from MM. He must allow J Cloke to stay on the ground and prove his worth not drag him at any opportunity.
