Given a chance which player/playersfrom other clubs would fellow forum users like to see wearing the blue and gold. I'd say Michael Voss for one and out and out champion and it hurts to say Matthew Lloyd even though it would never happen. That would certainly help our side. Though who knows we may have a Matthew Lloyd type somewhere in our ranks already playing for the wafl. Interesting to hear others opinion of the players from other clubs they rank the highest.

If I could take one player and put in our side, the person I think who would make the biggest difference to our team, and help us win a premiership.

Either Riewoldt or Pavlich. Almost impossible to split.

One of these guys could spend all their time up forward when we are in control of the game, and if we are being torn up down back, send them to defense.

Pavlich, although he'd have to undergo intensive hypnotherapy and re-education training to beat the docker out of him.

If I could choose to add any player to West Coast, it'd be these 5 in this order.

5. Matthew Pavlich
4. Jade Rawlings
3. Nick Reiwoldt
2. Graham Polak
1. Josh Carr

As much as I hate to say it but what team wouldn't have Matthew Lloyd ??

A young Alistair Lynch would be fantastic as well.

There's a little guy called Schnieder that's running around in Sydney colours that's gunna be a pretty handy player to have as well.

Don't dob me in to the Dockers haters society but I agree about Pavlich. First class player

Finally one I'd like to see come home is young Daniel Wells. That boy is another champion in the making.

Taking age into consideration

Pavlich, Reiwoldt, Hay - I'd take all ATM. Hay at FB, Reiwoldt at CHB, Pavlich at CHF. We don't need anything else, the rest takes care of itself.

Jesus if we had Hay, Reiwoldt and Pavlich we would basically be an All Australian side.

To think we could have had Simon Black and possibly Woewoden and we ended up with two duds in Brandon Hill and Jaxon Crabb. Although with our mid field now we certainly don't need Simon anymore. Pavlich is a good player and another player I like from the dockers is Medhurst although he is a hothead. The possiblity are endless on who would be great in the blue and gold from other clubs, maybe we don't need anyone we might just have a smokey in our ranks we don't know about yet your guess is as good as mine.

Pavlich and Riewoldt because they're KPP, young and already carving up.

But because I think we are in real need of a BIG body and this man also fits into the above 3 categories, and it's just a bit of a change, i'll go for Jon Brown from Brissy.

Shazam. All our problems are solved.

Sensible choice.

Why would we need Pavlich? Who would we drop from our midfield. We need kpp's, particularly a FB. Gasper and McDoogs are good for CHF but Brown would be a certain asset.

How about Kouta and Gehrig too!!!!

No need to be anti-Freo just for the sake of it.

Pavlich has proven he can play any position on the field, including midfield, full back, centre half back, centre half forward and full forward.

I'm not anti Freo for the sake of it, I just hate them :D

But Pav has not established himself as a kpp, he was thrashed by Jako when Freo supporters were calling Jako an old hack. He has proven himself this year with a free run thru the midfield and I am the first to accept he is a top player. But not what we need. We need a FB, and that isn't Pav.

Yeah, hasn't established himself as a KPP... he was only an All-Australian at 20 in a KPP.
What position has he played this year? If he is a kpp player of All-Australian standard why can't he establish himself in a kp at Freo. Just interested, not critical of Pav, he is a top player but I think he wont be played as a kpp for a few years yet. Let's see where he is picked in the All-Australian side this year.

I would say that it is because Freo are far weaker in their midfield, but have a lot of kpps- basically, he's playing where he is most needed.

Frankly, I think he's wasted in the midfield- he certainly is capable of the odd brilliant game there, but is vulnerable to moderately quick taggers who are strong enough to negate his body size (see: Chick)
First and foremost he'd have to be a key position player- Fremantle undersell themselves by playing him anywhere else-

Two reasons: Firstly, because the depth of our midfield isn't good enough at the moment. Bell, Hasleby, Headland, Carr, Cook and McManus would get beaten in the middle by the top sides. Add Pav to the rotation and we are a much stronger side. Our backline has been very good this year without him, and our forward line has been pretty effective with Pav running through the midfield pushing forward. If you removed him from our midfield we would no longer be one of the top sides.

Secondly, he is arguably the most skilful player in our side and is one of the quickest and fittest. The midfield is the area where he can get his hands on the ball and deliver it lace out to the advantage our forwards.

Um, he played at CHB for the whole of last season and was only beaten on two occassions, I'm not sure why you think he hasn't proven himself as a KPP yet. He was the best key defender in the league last year proven by his selection at FB in the AA side. He has also been moved forward several times this season and as a 19 year old and played very well.

If he is in the AA side this year, he'll be selected in the midfield because that's where he's been playing. Surely it isn't that hard to understand?

If he played in a KPP this season, he would be our best KPP player by a fair bit. He can easily establish himself there. But he has been playing midfield because Connolly thinks he can have a bigger influence on games from the midfield. If he played at CHB, he would be the best CHB in the competition but we have Polak, McPharlin, Haddrill, Parker and Woods who are all more than capable taking on the talls from the other side so it frees up Pavlich to play up the ground. Everytime Pavlich moves up forward, he always is very dangerous. It's just a question of where we think we can have the biggest impact. This season, he probably would have been more effective at CHF but he is learning to play midfield so he can dominate games like Kouta did in his prime. He has exceptional speed and endurance for someone 100kg. As you say, games are won from the midfield so that is why he is playing there.

I tend to agree but getting back to the thread title I see Pav as a CHF or CHB and not a FB. He would need to be quicker to make FB. So on a wish list I feel FB is our main need and Pav would not fit the bill.

WTF? Do you watch any games other than your own team Frodo?I challenge you to name two KPP in the league quicker than him.

His pace and fitness are freakish for a man of his size, well above average for a midfielder as well.

Why do you need a FB? What's wrong with Glass? He will be a very good FB.
