I saw that Dean Laidley has told Shane Woewoeden that he is not going to be drafted by the Roos.
Where does that leave him now?
Is there a home for him elsewhere?

It'll be a damn shame for him to end his career like this. Had he ever won the Charlie, he wouldn't be judged so unfairly like he is today by the public.

He is a solid player at best and he just so happens to have a Brownlow to his name. Winning that award doesn't mean you're a champion, it means you were one of or the best in a particular season judged by the umpires, nothing more and nothing less. I thought he contributed at Collingwood over the three seasons he was there and I would love nothing more to have him back, sadly this will not happen.

Oh well, someone may pull a rabbit out of the hat and give him another shot. I hope so, coz he really isnt that bad...

What really killed him at Collingwood, IMO, is that he started to become not just slow across the ground, but slow to dispose of the ball. He's a very good kick, but he seemed to lose confidence in his ability to hit targets. As a result, he had this infuriating habit of getting the ball then hanging onto it for too long, and when he did dispose of it, too many of his possessions became 20 or 30m chips that didn't hurt the opposition. Became a really stagnant player.

Can't afford to be both slow by foot and mind.

I was relieved when I heard this on the news, but I'm not sure about the Thurley plan either, and I am sorry for Woewodin personally if he doesn't get picked up. Sounds like he has kept training hard and staying positive at Collingwood, and North's preseason - I guess there are stories ike this every year, and the Brownlow is the big difference. But it's hard to see Woey go out this way while there's hoo ha about Camporeale.

Campo still has a little pace left which is still a selling point. Pace gives you a little more time to think about your disposals so you look a little better.

I feel bad for WoeWodin even though I wasn't too keen on him at North.

At least Laidley had the guts to say it to him straight up. Much better than keeping him in the dark until Draft day without any intention of picking him up.

Much better to know now than to give him false hope.

East Fremantle will do everything they can to get him home. They need some experience at the club and with some cash from the draft may be able to afford him

As someone said earlier he was a good solid player nothing more nothing less. He had one outstanding year and the gimps noticed and gave him votes.

He has not helped his cause by whingeing and moaning in the media, he was quick to put his hand up for $500k a year, well with big money comes big responsibility and he failed to deliver and now must pay the price.

Funny, that's what Melbourne supporters were saying 3 years ago.
