TRIPLE premiership player David Wojcinski will play his first game for the year when Geelong's VFL team takes on Werribee on Friday night.

The 31-year-old dashing defender was sidelined by a foot injury during the pre-season, but after a month of solid training he is ready to return via the reserves.

The club's chief medical officer, Dr Chris Bradshaw, told CatsTV on Wednesday that Wojcinksi "would probably play limited game-time, but he should be right to go".

Great news, we could definitely use his legspeed in our lineup, so hopefully after 2 or 3 solid vfl games he will be ready for senior selection.

Great to hear Varcoe is not too far behind also

Great new on the speedstars.
If anyone wants to meet wojo to get things signed etc hes going to be at anytime fittness grovedale this sunday morning about 11am l think.

I guess he would be at the game aswell.I only know he going to at the gym because the guy there told me there having a family/open day and wojo will be there in the morning l dont think he will there long thats my guess.

Massive news!!! With hunt to play vfl hopefully this week as well, over the next 3 weeks we should see the return of all of wojo, j hunt, Scarlett, smedts and stokes... This will place big pressure on spots (fingers crossed no injuries between now and then) and hopefully an all round improvement in team performance... Add varcoe to that list a lil further down the track and hopefully menzel and things may start taking shape!

Agree 100 %. About time we heard some good news re injuries.

We will never know - but with Scarlett, Wojo, JHunt and Varcoe in the team we could be 3 zip - and flying. With a few senior players down we need these guys in the team to take up some of the slack.

Joel Hamling and Kersten (if he's playing) aren't exactly slow either, since both impressed in the 20m sprint at the draft combine.

Add Jaxson Barham to that, and we'll have a pretty quick VFL side running about on Friday night.

Great news, it's not until you're missing your experienced fringe players, how much is really missed during games, can't wait to see Varcoe return as well
