Does anyone know where you can get old style woolen jumpers from?
You know, the ones with the cool collars on them, and without all the AFL merch on them?
Those things are awesome.

I wear my 1987 Pies jumper still, they are gold, but I fear you may have to get your Granny to knit you one, as they are rare as rocking horse sheizen.

They are getting hard to find. Dunno if Buffalo Sports still do the knock-off variety...

I still wear mine (13 years old), however it's starting to look like it's painted on...

i unstitched all the bullshit "speed kills" and the old "afl" logos though.

This is a photo of my woollen jumper from the mid 80's. The number was Peter Motleys. After the 1987 grand final win i was fortunate enough to get into the social club where the players were celebrating at princes park.
All the players signed the number, except i missed getting Justin Maddens..that the only one missing.

I have an old wollen St Kilda jumper, signed by Robert Harvey.

Dunno where it's from though my Dad gave it to me when I was about 10 whilst he was living in Geelong, maybe there's a shop that sells them there somewhere?

Indeed.

I got a Footscray '54 sleeveless jumper made up, with a number on the back - $30, but that was a few years back, they will make up ANY old style jumper, with or without the collar, full sleeve etc, and they look awesome.

There is a big sports store in Warrnambool called De Grandis which doesn't seem to have caught on that AFL teams have dropped the woolen jumpers and that Fitzroy was kicked out.

They still have heaps of old jumpers and footy gear and sell them pretty cheap.

This place is worth a phone call first.
Ask for Greg.
They have recently been bought out, and I'm not sure if they're still doing one-off jumpers.

Having said that, they used to be the best place for the old style footy jumpers.

No go. They have stopped making one -off jumpers.

My old man still has one of Ricky Quade's jumpers pinned to the wall in his garage. He wouldnt let me wear it when i was a kid and guarded it like a safe. My mother washed it in hot water and it shrunk like hell about 15yrs ago. Stretched back out to size but its all outta shape now. Moths have been into it too.

Bastard should have given it to me :D...at least it would have got worn instead of just hanging there rotting in the garage. I'll never forgive him for that.
