I discovered I'm kinda cheating by not reusing green letters so from here out I'm adhering to hard mode rules.
Nah it isn't cheating lol. The WordleBot uses eliminating words all the time.

Agreed, otherwise it's all luck when you get a common sequence like Train, Brain, Grain, Drain. If you only had the first letter, you need skill to identify possible words.

BDGT

BEGAT, BEGOT Uses up 3/4 pretty much gives you your answer in 2 shots.
I can't remember the math for probability but I'd take a consistent two tries every day of the week.

It's kinda cheating if you aren't using your green letter in the same place in your next try.

For what it's worth, this is how I work my way through things

For arguments sake, let's pretend the word is "frown"

My opening word could be BEACH.

Obviously no green letters. Given there are no E's or A's in the word, I try to use other common vowel sequences to eliminate/open up choices
Second line - GROUP - R & O. Both correct, and it eliminates more choices.
Third line - XROXX - is what I literally type in and then try to find letters that can actually follow. For example, Q, X, Z, Y, V, L, J, K, M, N, and a few others cannot be in the first spot. Then I work through letters that could be. D, F, W, T.
My Wordle screen could then look like FROXX. And then I follow the same sequence of letters that could logically follow FRO.

I hope this helps/makes sense.

It’s not “cheating”, there are lots of different techniques to eliminating letters. Do whatever works best for you to solve the puzzle in 6 tries.

I agree. I'd rather eliminate and finish in 5, than to bow out because of 'rules' and fail to guess the word.
