Do these same people leave like 5mL of milk in the fridge because they're too lazy to go get another carton?

Every workplace in existence has one of those...
Or the people who don't replace an empty water container. Seriously takes 5 seconds!

I reckon it's the bottle gnomes who do it. The bottle gnomes hide in office kitchens around the world and put nearly empty bottles of water and milk in the fridge to aggravate people.

I made the mistake one time at work not labelling my sandwiches thinking they would go untouched. I was wrong when one day i opened the fridge to find half had been taken.

Anything i put in the fridge now gets labelled.

I will use any milk or butter that isn't labelled but never take anything else even without a label.

A tub of margarine is being discussed. Not a sandwich.

Bitch at work had a go at me for using "her" pepper, which was in a container on the bench, she's an ordinary unit.

Had a lunch thief many years ago at my work, I used to often come on a Monday with Weber roast sandwiches from the weekend, the cheeky campaigner had nicked one and wrapped the other one back up, did this twice. Everyone else found it funny until one bloke got his can of coke nicked, the GM got involved after that!

I've never consumed anything from a work fridge other than milk and butter/margarine. I would think twice about almond milk or soy milk etc and not assume that's a free for all, but then I wouldn't touch that anyway. If I had special milk I'd label it.

I don't care if you have 3 employees or 3,000 the fridge should have milk and butter in it. And there should be coffee, tea and sugar. Can be blend 43, cheap bags and Coles white sugar but that's the minimum. And a kettle and mugs obviously.

Margarine, milk.... commodities... that's communal. If you leave it in the fridge or on the bench than I assume you are making available for everyone, or that it is supplied by work for the use of everyone. As I do if I leave that sort of thing in those places.

However anyone who helps them self to an unlabelled sandwich or packed lunch etc is just a shit campaigner.

FWIW the work instant coffee is shit. I bring a jar of slightly less shit instant coffee. I put it away in one of the cupboards rather than leave it on the bench just because our staff kitchen is also open to a lot of visitors who use our meeting rooms etc. I don't want every person who walks through our kitchen delving in to it but I also don't make a secret of it amongst our own staff so am more than happy for the regular staff to help themselves (although if one of them would like to occassionally supply a jar too that would be nice).

When I'm on a swing away, I hock a loogie in my crib.

If someone does pinch it, at least I get a chuckle out of it.

There are only about 3 people in the office who actually use our fridge.

I have an entire level of the fridge filled with energy drinks and random foods. I sit next to the fridge so any campaigner stealing my shit is ****ed

Due to the exorbitant prices for a sandwich in the CBD these days, I've got a little corner of a shelf with my stuff, mainly condiments so I can make my sandwich fresh when I bring in my fillings from home. Mayo, mustards, butter, cranberry sauce, those awesome bright-yellow Leggo's mustard pickle etc. I wouldn't touch anyone else's stuff, mainly as their food looks gross, apart from the Asians that come in with ridiculously delicious smelling soups and salads.

Anyway, if anyone has a go at my stuff big deal, what does a few spreads of butter cost? I reckon there's two main rules that need to be followed with a communal fridge.

1. If you spill anything in there, clean it up.
2. Keep track of how long your stuff has been in there. If it's starting to move, it's binned.

I food prep on Sundays for a fortnight or so, so i always have a frozen meal ready for work. Gotta save those bucks.

The business i work with are all super well paid so they just expense every meal. No fridge to worry about
