I reckon its good that theyve introduced a Test Championship but they way the point scoring is set out, seems a little unfair to me. Why should a team get 2 points for winning a 5 test series 5-0, while another team get 2 points for winning a 3 test series 1-0.

I think the best system would be to have the winner of a test series get 2 points and a drawn series have one point each to the teams, like it is at the moment. Then a side should get 1 bonus point for each test they win, so for instance Australia would've recieved 7 points from the summer.

It seemso nly logic to me.

Sounds good from what I've heard - now countries can't brag of being the best in the world at test cricket unless they have actually won the Championship

If they had to have a trophy for it, who should they name it after?

I know im probably biased but it have to be the Sir Donald Bradman Cup. Surely a test average of 99 will never be repeated

I dont think there is any official presentatioin or anything, because its not handed out every 10 years. Its the last home series and the last away series against every other team counts to the total. Therefore a total of 18 series counts with and it's based on a rolling system, where say after 4 years, when we meet England in England, that wipes of the score from the previous ashes tour.

Like the way the ATP Tennis rankings used to be done.

WCE2000 I reckon that the points system is unfair but i would be more in favour of 3pts for a 5 test series & 2 for a 3 test series if u give points for winning individual tests it becomes a bit unfair as games that r played in a dead series throw up strange results.
Whilst the comp is a rolling league table I believe that the trophy will be given out after every 4 or 5 years to the team that is top at that point which is fairt as everyone will have played everyone else in that period.
I was gonna say that it should be called the Tufnell Trophy but I think Hansie Cronje beats that!

Haha Dipper, good call. Maybe they can call it the Warne World Cup?
