Worst Player Ever = Craig Bolton

Has any1 ever seen a player worse then craig bolton, to think he played games for a premiership team like the lions.

Has he ever played a good game or remotely good game.

He is a hack we need to get rid of him asap.

God help the club who pick him up.

There are a few. Judd Lalich from Essendon a few years ago was one of them. Bolton should have been delisted last year IMO. If he stays, there is something wrong. He is gone this year.

Lalich is one of those highly talented players who somehow slips through the AFL system. Unfortunate.

I don't think Bolton is as bad a player as some people think. I generally think, however, that he is often given tasks which are beyond him, and for this reason looks worse than he actually is. I also think he is often played out of position.

I remember Bolton having some very good games back in early 2000. I generally regard him as having a good mark, and being a bit of a goer. His decision making and disposal needs working on, but his situation isn't dissimilar to that of A.Shattock at the end of last year.

I remember him doing an excellent job on Chad Cornes in RD 7 against Port but then he got carved up by Tarrant in RD 8 against Collingwood.

I personally think he can do a decent job on a lesser forward but is not a key position player as Leigh played him like in a couple of games.

He is by no means the worst player ever though as there are plenty of so called "superstars" in some of the Melbourne clubs who've put in worst performances than him.

yeah very very true stacey....... Leigh is stupid for playing bolts in some of the positions that he does,,,, like that time on Tarrant,, i was going to cry........he is a midfielder & would be suited to perhaps take des' role

I may be being hypersensitive on Bolton's behalf, but the tone and title of this thread worries me a little. If I were Bolton and by some odious mishappenstance came upon this thread, I would be less than pleased and somewhat depressed. I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiments, just the need to be quite so cruel.

I have to say that Craig's 'away' form has been pretty disappointing but he's plonked at half back as some sort of torture on players in red hot form - Tarrant and Hamill come to mind. He seems better at home - I think he needs to get more physical and hit the packs, as he's a solid lad.

Bolts isn't anywhere near as bad as paople are saying and I still reckon Chad Cornes has nightmares everytime he reads his name. He is just unfortunate about trying to get a game in this era of the Lions. His decision making and disposal can let him down under pressure, however he is brave and plays some roles well. Probably too light to really play a key position and not quite skilled enough for on ball duties!

The kid seemed to be playing OK in attack until he was almost killed against Melbourne at Colonial a couple of years ago.

At teh moment both he and McGrath seem to playing well within themselves in terms of risk taking. Bolton got burnt badly against Carlton last year, as a few did. The question is, is what he is lacking something that will come with experience or is it 'fatal'?

What he's got to develop is teh ability to hurt an opponent even if he's getting done himself. At the moment, he looks like he's focussing on stopping which is OK with the rest of teh backline can fire. Brad Scott did a similar job when Chris was injured from memory

Craig Bolton couldnt of got a game in the struggling bears era.
I agree his decision making is crap

he has great skills which are showcased in teh reserves i know it is a diffeernt level but at least we know he is a champ... he just doesnt get enough game time & doesnt get put in a postion he can play properly in put the poor fella on a wing or something & he will be back in business.

Have a look at where Des Headland was at the start of last year, and his decision making and skill level under pressure was fairly atrocious as well. Headland got the opportunities, Bolton didn't. Bolton would definitely have got a game for the early 90's Bears and Lions, as he has shown some promise and that was almost enough to get you the captaincy back then!

I still think Bolts is in between a midfielder and key position player, and hasn't found a comfort level at all.

Very rough call on Bolts. He's been crucified down back on a couple of notable occasions (courtesy of Messrs Hamill and Tarrant), but apart from those games has done reasonably enough for a 'fringe' player with limited opportunities. I reckon he's a midfielder/forward and not a backman, anyway.

And he's a far more capable player than Mick Laffy ever was, to boot!
