Serious question, if not for the Jim Synes lead board would we still be here as a club.

5 million odd in debt.
Woeful on field performances.
Flagging memberships.
No training facilties to speak of.
No Casey style grass roots involvement.

If we had continued this way at the very best we would of been struggling cellar dwellars for years (living on afl hand outs) or at worst, merged, sent interstate or gone.

So I tip my hat to all involved in the demon revival especially debt demolition.

Yeah I think we all realise that we owe Jim our whole club. Everyone was willing to help but unit Debt Demolition we didnt know how

I'm sure we'd still exist, something would have bailed us out temporarily. But what we owe is worth so much more than our existence, it's the culture he's brought to the club.

We need to ensure we build a sustainable platform for the future. For me the next goals are to stop selling any games and most importantly stop receiving AFL handouts. Stand on our own two feet.

For the future we need to continue to build on the relationship with Casey. This initiative helps to provide us with long term sustainability, not a short term injection of cash.

I definately believe we would not be in the position the club is now in without Jim Stynes.

I think the difference between Jim Stynes and the last 3 presidents (Gutnick/Szonzy/Gardner) is that Jim Stynes has a vision, the determination, will and passion to see our club succeed and be better. Basically the same attributes that he takes as he goes about his life and work.

Whilst the last 3 presidents were all businessmen and ran the club like a business. IMO there really was no passion from them.

I think it would be indulging in hyperbole to suggest that the club would no longer exist without Stynes and his board.

Having said that, they really have done an amazing job to get the club to where it is currently.

I dunno... The AFL seemed quite intent on telling us the fact we were Melbourne meant shit. If the hypothetical board that didnt have Jim in it at least tried maybe the AFL would help.

But they don't seem to be giving much support to North Melbourne at the moment, Kangas really had to stretch their resources to find Ballarat and even that doesnt appear to be a done deal.

We would still exist but the situation would probably have been very grim. Stynes and Schwab (often overlooked, but he is the one that runs the day-to-day operations) have done a terrific job.

That couldn't be further from the truth - we've got a good footy fixture but it's a shithouse fixture financially.
