grandy

dont wanna lose the prelim and then wonder what might have been

done that plenty of times before and not a pleasant feeling watching two other teams run out in grand final day knowing it coulda been you

Thanks for making me re-live the Broncos game two weeks ago Nicko:( :P...

Losing a Prelim. i'm usually down for a week, then the Grand Final takes my attention, losing the Grand Final keeps me down for the entire off season.

It's so much worse when a Grand Final is lost because they always show the footage of the other team winning and its gets really annoying to see it the whole year round until the Grand Final next year

I've only ever seen the 1995 and 1997 GF's once.

Hey LF, bet you would be spewing more if Canterbury had lost that game to Parramatta if Halligan missed that kick than losing to the Broncos the next week :p.

I'm still haunted by the 2002 loss, but the 2003 loss doesn't hurt nearly as much.
I spose it's like getting your hopes so high it hurts coming down more. Still, for me i'd much rather see my team in the GF even if we lost than be finals fodder.

LOL Oh yeah!!!! I'm so glad Halligan didn't chock under pressure like he did with North Sydney in 1991 (I think).

I do have the video Nick but the quality is crap, anyone got a good copy? lol I also have that memorable Ticket in my room :D... I might frame it one day LOL.

I still give it to my mates that support Parramatta, it was a game that will go down in history as the best come back in a big game!

For anyone that forgot that memorable final series... Heres a review!

The Bulldogs finished 9th at seasons end! We had to win our last 4 games to make it...
We defeated Wests, Dragons, Melbourne (in shocking conditions) and Illawarra.

In the Finals we knocked out St George (St George aNd Illwarra's last games as a stand alone clubs were both against the Bulldogs and they both lost :D), North Sydney (Kept them tryless), Newcastle in overtime after being behind 16-0 and Parramatta in overtime after being behind 18-2 with 10 minutes to go! We lost to Brisbane after leading 12-10 at half time in the Grand Final but the 2 months before it ensured it didn't matter the final result of the GF, it was an amazing season!!!!! What made it sweeter for me was that i went to every game Home and Away in NSW, when all the supporters stayed away (because of Super League) but came back in the final series:mad:

Sorry guys i got carried away but it was a memorable year! I rate it better then 2004 when we won the Grand Final!

Hey LF, what did Manly, Melbourne and Brisbane have in common this year??

They never lost to the Bulldogs hahaha :)

'twas an amazing year '98 - GF was a bit of a let down after such an amazing finals series.

LOL... Melbourne lost to the Bulldogs that year :p
IT was an amazing 2 months of Rugby League... The Bulldogs had the worst team to ever make a GF IMO, but the heart and courage shown was simply special :p :thumbsu: . The Grand Final was a let down but that series was what the NRL needed back then to win back some fans.
ParraEelsNRL sorry to remind you of the 1998 final series:D

I don't feel you can isolate them as the absolute criteria for judging disappointment.

I'm an Eels fans and I can tell you the 2005 loss against the Cowboys, I can't even explain it, left me inconsolable for about 3 days.

The 2001 loss against the Knights I just take in my stride as losing to a better team on the night.
