Well? Personally my view has changed from week to week. I now firmly hope we do gain the services of Malthouse, not because Ratten has done a bad job, just that I believe the players will respond well in getting someone like Mick in now, a bit of extra motivation maybe...

Anyway, if it were your call, would you pay Ratten out?

How about Carlton holding its nerve for a change, instead of the club going the easy route in sacking a coach. Carlton's list is at a stage now it has to start delivering, stability in sticking with Ratten will help. Not a new coach and two years of learning and getting used to a new game plan.

As much as i loved digging into the Blues and Ratten this year, no i wouldn't. If he had this type of season without Carltons large injury list to most of its key players sure, but there were exceptional circumstances for the position the blues are in. I think Carlton is doing this for the supporters more than the benifit of the team and so the board can try and save their own jobs.

For me, considering the players from that list he actually had at his disposal, I'd say being in a position to make finals two rounds out was an achievement in itself. This is something many ex-coaches have started to speak about too. I mean, I thought the Blues were done after the Swans loss, but they kept pushing and other results fell their way. Far from a shocker!

Personally, I would have kept Ratten, replaced Sticks and reduced the board to 8 members.
