This court is so slow, favours Svitolina massively. Not only that, Elina holds a 5-0 head to head record against ash. Going to be very hard for Barty to win tonight. One thing I've noticed ash do differently so far is to play the topspin backhand a lot more than she normally does.

Should be a worry for the wta how injured the field was. Bencic, Osaka, BA, Bertens from a field of 8/9. Long season and slow courts are to blame.
.as for Barty, for best work seems to be done on the slow courts. Not sure why but perhaps an ability to adapt and not get smashed by a power player. Or just a luck if the draw. Either way, she is a star
