all new consoles come with a controller as far as i've ever known.

and the 4gb 360 for 200 is good enough i guess....
if you do go with it i sure hope your mates have 360's (main reason to go with it as others have said) and you don't mind paying roughly $50 a year to go online cause the library of top shelf exclusives on 360 is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr inferior to the ps3's.

Really 4GB isn't enough if you're going to be playing more than a few games.

Games now have the option of installing to the Hard Drive (which is a full game install...generally always bigger than 4GB alone), doing this can vastly improve the game experience and prevent a number of issues from popping up.

So unless you're really only getting it for a game or two then you'll want a bigger Hard Drive option.

Installing games to HDD is terribly overrated, I barely notice the change on my 360. If it were possible I wouldn't bother installing on the PS3. But yeah 4GB is nothing, but you can always use and external HD like I do (have an early 20GB 360 Pro)

I'm guessing you're talking about the JB sale tomorrow? Picking up Skyrim and Uncharted for $130=great success.

Seems that Xbox Live is a lot more stable then ps3 online. Perhaps spending the extra 60 bucks a year really does help with online game play.

To be fair, the PSN only had the one major outage (which lasted an entire school holidays and dragged on forever), and generally only has a few outages every now and then. I find its the online games themselves that crash more often, ie EA  .

The exclusives are reasonable on both, I have the PS3 and enjoyed MGS4, Gran Turismo 5 and the Uncharted series immensely. Despite this, I greedily wish I could experience games like Forza 4 and Halo as well. Ah well.

An alternative to both, if you're not too bothered about playing with your mates is the PlayStation Vita. Comes out next year and should be a portable powerhouse.

I got mine from ozgameshop.com last year for ~$50. They emailed the code relatively quickly (it was around the time of the QLD flooding and they're based in Brisbane or something, so there was a small delay).
