Microsoft trying to kill themselves as quick as possible? Huge backlash from this so that’s a plus.
I also think it's intentional. Think they'll be bowing out from the gaming market eventually.

Surely it’s only a matter of time before they sunset the game pass service. Won’t be this year but likely at the very end of the console generation.I also think it's intentional. Think they'll be bowing out from the gaming market eventually.

The sad part is, Xbox hardware team is fantastic.IMO licensed or partnered hardware. There were articles a year or two ago that in the future Xbox will be licensed but open to companies like Lenovo, Asus etc to create their own Windows based Xbox. They've invested a fair bit into the Windows gaming OS update that's rolling out to handhelds and I assume the eventual goal is to have third parties license the Xbox brand like the new Xbox Ally to create their own Windows based consoles and like the handhelds have access to all PC storefronts.
I haven’t followed the Xbox rumours, but I doubt they are making another console themselves.

I wouldn’t say the One reveal killed the brand although it certainly left a bad taste in the mouth of the online community. Most people who buy consoles wouldn’t have heard of that. They had momentum with the 360 but any chance they had for long term success was buried with the Xbox One disastrous reveal and the Don Mattrick comments that followed it.
I really like the Series X itself and even the look of the UI (although the settings are clunky). I had it for about 6 months before trading it in for a PS5.The sad part is, Xbox hardware team is fantastic.
From controller ergonomics to XSX internal design with splitting the mother board in half.

Interesting given that's not the Australian pricingHad an xbox gold subscription for many years priced at $14.99 p/m thru Telstra. A couple of months ago Telstra canceled their service for xbox game pass. So bought directly thru Microsoft on the xbox, at the new price of $19.99 p/m. Then today get word from MS that this service is now $29.99 p/m. So within a few months the price has doubled.
Thread is less than an hour old so who knows but I saw one or two confirmations in the thread. Oddly the email announcing it has disappeared from my inbox. (a Hotmail address). Not saying there is anything there but its not in my trash either and I certainty wouldn't have gone to my trash and deleted the email from there
I'm just going to trade the bastard of a console in.
It's useless.
