Unofficial Preview Yellow Wings For Derby Final

Mods, I get this should just be a part of the #returnthewings thread, but I assume a lot of people don't read that thread regularly anymore, so just let us have this.

G'day all. Few people were mentioning that if we play Freo away in a final we would be forced into wearing the tablecloth, which would be like wearing the ochre, except bad. Port last year were allowed to make a one off prison bar to save them wearing their clash at home v Richmond, they only did this in about four days too, but seeing how quick they changed to the V jumpers and how slow we are taking with #returnthewings, we'd need to start a push now to have any hope of getting the jumpers changed.

So tweet Stocksy, email the club, comment on facebook about getting a set of the yellow made up for the finals, cause I don't want to imagine wearing the white in a GF against the Dockers. (I mean the odds of them not cancelling the season after the Hawks plane crash would be low but still, there's a chance)


Also might be worth asking about getting a home royal wings made up so we could wear royal for our home finals too.

Love the idea, maybe they'd let it go through quicker if it's just a one off?? Like the port scenario you mentioned.

As for the royal wings in a home final, that's an interesting one, we wore Tri panel in 05 qf then wings in 06 qf so not sure why it was changed from 05 to 06. Plus our 07 semi we wore wings when Collingwood wore their clash, so we could have easily worn the tri Panel then if we had wanted too. Maybe those points would be good to bring up when asking about home wings.

Either way, great idea, let's make it happen!!

If we make the GF we should just wear the wings anyway - I'd gladly contribute a donation to the club's fine if it meant we won another premiership (cause we all know that we only win GFs in wings).

We'd actually have more seats at Subi if we play Freo as it's an AFL controlled game, not a club controlled and we have more members. I agree the AFL would likely go the other way though at Subi even though it makes no difference.

What a game.

Just changing the shorts is a big difference to making the home team wear their clash jumper though.

And besides, even if they AFL broke their own rules to let us wear Royal, a push like this would still help the actual #returnthewings anyway

No they wouldn't. If Freo finished higher, and won the shorts toin coss (do they still do that?) - Freo would have every right to wear Purple.

WCE's destiny is in their own hands regarding the table cloth.

You know when the AFL tried to make Port wear their clash strip in their EF and Port kicked the shit and were then allowed to play in their SANFL prison bars? I bet if that happened to us we'd have just bent over and let the AFL stick their dicks in our butts. Prove me wrong west coast. Yellow peril in cases like these!

Given the dockers wore white in 2012 v Hawthorn by choice (they were only forced into white shorts, they chose to wear the white guernsey!), it's likely they would be happy to wear white again against us (that guernsey now has history for them as it was the strip they wore for their inaugral).

However, I fully endorse the idea of having yellow peril guernseys as a back-up option because the thought of wearing the white table cloth to any final (let alone the grand final) is awful. Even wearing the tripanel would be better that the white table cloth (but not as good as the peril).
