Headline in The Ages sporting section, and so true.
Knights must be regretting "dropping" Johnson and Peveril from the team. In all the games I have watched these two play, they have never performed as badly as any on the twenty two Essendon players in that first half.
The message must have gone out to the younger players that they could waltz into the team if they are young and/or wore iridescent banana boots. No need to knock yourself out.
To make it more bitter for the two loyal players, Hogsbreath crowed and gloated over the fact that Knights had dropped them from the team and they were unlikely to play again this year.
What a crock of shyte!! I have always believed that a younger player has to earn his place in a team by playing better than another player in the team. Not at the Bombers you don't!! or so it seems. You just have to be young and cute.
In life, you cut the rod to suit your back - and Knights and Hogsbreath's bums must be stinging today!! (Figuratively, that is).
