Too quick, too talented, too tough & much more committed. The only surprise is that the margin wasn't greater.

I would have posted earlier, but I've just thawed out. Those conditions are not our favourite fare.

Well done Cats. You definitely are a genuine flag contender.

Not much for us Lions to enthuse about. I thought Michael was fantastic against the odds...Bradshaw battled manfully all day too. Not much else though.

I thought Sherman played quite well for you guys yesterday.

Yere he had a few touches.

Can anyone of you Cat fans give me some info. about the stands.

This is going back a long way. What did your new stand replace ? I recall in 1978-1979 some works going on where your new stand is now. It's just a thing that has stuck in my mind for some reason...I remember Fitzroy playing Geelong in Rd 22, 1978. We got done by 62 points (Not much has changed!)

Looking around yesterday, I was amazed at how many stands the ground has.

haha, me too! That bloody weather wouldnt make up its mind as to what it was doing.. and now i'm sick after sitting out in that!

But it was worth it ;)

Interesting to see that the scores of the last time we played you guys, were practically reversed! I believed we were always going to win, but certainly not by that margin.

Remember tho, if you guyz are ever feeling 'blue' during this season, you can always watch the replays of the GFs you played in! Therefor i will not be feeling sorry for you at all! ;)

Thanks for the sentiments but rememeber its like the laws of physics , what gos up must go down. Brisbane has been beating us up for some time and its just the cycle of things that its now our turn to be up and yours to rebuild.
The one advantage that should ensure that yours will only be a short little dip in the downtrend is the key big guys you have. Brennan looks to be a bit of a frustraition but he is so talented that he will eventually settle somewhere. Mitch Clarke is a great pickup and could be anything and of course with the right ball supply the most dominate force at CHF in the AFL, JB. The man is so young you will rebuild and he will still be there when you are up there again. Considering the talent that will be available in the 06 draft some low picks may you up again before you know it. But for now its our time.

Victory - Nothing less is acceptable

There's never been a stand on the site of the new stand. In 1978 they were building the soon-to-be Reg Hickey stand at the Barwon river end.

I managed to get sunburnt and drenched all in the one day. Lovely Geelong weather ;)

Great way to open the season proper for you guys. Very well played. And with a few guys like Johnson, Kelly, etc to come back, you're looking a formidible side.

As for us, well lets just say that sweet liquor eases the pain.....
