Who are the players you go out of your way to watch? Keep it to 2 players max from your own team (if you have one). Mine goes a little something like this:
1st team
C - Andrew Bynum: The size, the athleticism, the sound defensive fundamentals, the pretty footwork in the post...and still 21 years old. It's enough to make you swoon.
PF - Al Jefferson: He's 6"9, can't run, can't jump, gets double and triple teamed all game, yet schools everyone on the block. I maintain he's the best pure post player since McHale, and incredible to watch. Still young too.
SF - Stephen Jackson: Guards literally every position, and does so at an all-NBA level. On the other end, consistently takes ridiculously shit pull-up J's that may or may not go in, but keep you on the edge of your seat nonetheless. The closer the game, the better he plays. Biggest pair of gonads in the league.
SG - Manu Ginobili (VC) - I'd argue he's the most competitive person on the
on the planet. Last year once again was the best player in the NBA when there's 5 minutes or less remaining in a close game. Shot 57% in that situation, and dished a whole bunch of assists too. Plus that step-back 3-ball is tremendous fun.
PG - Chris Paul (C) - He's under 6"0 tall. His speed is overrated. But he's so fundamentally sound and he's so creative, that he's the best player in the league right now. I'd say clear-cut the best ball-handler the NBA has ever seen, and definitely the best decision-maker I've personally ever seen. Every time you watch him, you're getting an education in basketball.
2nd team
C - Kendrick Perkins - Post defense.
PF - Andrei Kirilenko - Basketball IQ.
SF - Hedo Turkoglu - Who needs co-ordination?
SG - Brandon Roy - Mini-Manu
PG - Steve Nash - Pull-up jumper, and left hand pass.
Kobe and Pierce unlucky.
