Apologies if in the wrong thread - I haven't played these on Android, but they are all good on PC, and seem to have good reviews on Android....

The Humble Bundle for Android
http://www.humblebundle.com/

Pay what you want, over $1 for... (DRM free)
  • Anomoly HD
  • Osmos HD
  • Edge (& Edge Ex)
Pay over the average (currently $5.69) and get
  • World of Goo

...plus you get them on PC, Linux and Mac too.

Humble Bundle has done 4 main bundles and a few themed bundles on PC, and it's great value. They always add bonus games to the bundle after a few days too, which I assume the 3 spaces on the phone picture are something to do with that.

FWIW, with previous bundles if you don't pay the average before the bonus games appear, you still get the bonuses. If don't buy it prior, you then have to pay over the average to get the bonuses.

Shameless plug - "Count Down to Bounce Down AFL 2012".
Provides home screen widget with continuous count down to the next bounce down of the H&A season. Tap on it and the entire season's fixtures are there. View all teams or select your favourite. Install mutliple widgets to keep track of both the next game in the league and the next game for one or more teams that you follow. Sound effects like the 5 minute hooter sequence and Text-To-Speech are part of the user's settings.
Search for "AFL 2012" in the Android Market. I hope you enjoy it.

I like all applications that help me make the best use of my media - convert flac to mp3 and other formats, edit audio and video, open pdf files and such.

Plex

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.plexapp.android

This app is friggin awesome, when combined with the PC/Mac Plex media centre and Plex media server.

I wont explain it all, as the market page gives the general overview, but I have to say that one part of it which is great (and not really mentioned on the market) is the scanning of your video files. I have approx 800 movies on my PC, and it scanned and automatically found most of them correctly. I had to manually find maybe 20? Some of the movies it correctly found were very obscure (japanese horror movies from the 80's or 90's with no english title for example). TV shows require a little more setup, just to make sure it scans the files (eg. using s01e01 for episode naming, which many of mine already have, and the program FileBot makes renaming multiple tv episodes very easy).

I once went as far as coding my own php website, with IMDb data scraping etc just to try an achieve the same sort of thing (a semi auto catalogue creator), which worked well, but was still too much to maintain my collection list (entering one movie at a time to search for). So this app is a godsend, just as a collection builder, let alone it's main use.

Just as a catalogue browser (as I use a WDTV Live as my media player, which Plex doesn't work with), I can look up my movies by director, by starring actor, by release date, by date added to my Plex database, etc. Movies have descriptions, covers, quality (720p/480p, 2.0/5.1 etc), while tv shows get listed by show, and you can then view individual seasons, and then episodes (each of which has a description and episode title). I can do my own custom collections (eg. I have a collections for "Based on Philip K Dick", "Directed by Takashi Miike", "My Favourites" etc).

Anyway, like I said, the catalogue is not even the main use for it. Check it out the market page, and also this review, which has more of the main use for it (in particular the mobile side) which is very cool. I badly need to setup a HTPC for this - works great on my desktop pc, but not gonna sit there watching movies...

No idea how it compares to others, but just a heads up that Swiftkey X Keyboard is currently on sale for $0.49. I think it's usually $4.

I use that one myself, and it's definitely better than the default one, I really like it, but I haven't tried any others. It predicts words pretty well.

Some other stuff on sale here too:

I use that Endomondo Sports Tracker, and find that to be pretty handy. I don't do all the social/sharing stuff on it, but just for tracking myself when going for a walk, and keeping a history of it (in the app and online) it's good.

I know this may sound a bit girlie but I use an app called Mighty Grocery.

It's great for when you're at work or home and you remember things you need so you just put it into the list for that next trip to the supermarket..

Also what apps do you use to view pictures?
I find the standard Android one is very average..
