Yeah fair enough, I probably went OTT with my comments earlier, but to be fair I didn't realise just how sensitive this issue is to people of croatian heritage like CarlyP, it's just that I've met a few very nice Bosnian people who have fled that horrible situation, and yeah they don't talk about the war as it's too painful, however the one thing that really irks me is that some of the butchers there (won't single out any nationality this time to be fair) have gotten have never been brought to justice (or given light sentenances), and frankly yeah it's just horrifirc what happened to them, that is another big case of racial and religious genocide that sadly seems to be glossed over the in modern day war on terrorism and weapons of mass destruction

FWIW my Baba grew up in Herzigovina so I have a strong affinity for Bosnians. Most Croats do! Thats why we share our half of Bosnia with them now!

I'm pretty much Australian on my fathers side for at least 4/5 generations but our descendents were farmers from England going to Australia to farm, however I'm not sure if they were English but I guess they were. Also on my fathers side my great grandmother was half or part Maori. So I guess I can legally do the haka and play for the New Zealand rugby league side .

My mothers side was apparently Irish, but I don't know how far back that goes but I heard they were descendents of an Irish Kennedy family that was maybe convicts.

My sir name is actually Jewish in origin so there may be some traces of Jewish in our family.

Apparently, someone told him it would be a good idea to walk overland to Horsham, which he duly did. The family stayed in Horsham until the early 1890s, then moved to Fitzroy and then Northcote in the early 1900s.
