Yeah I was really considering it, but I like to play at different courses rather than being locked into the one, which leads me to my next question of whether there is like a club or membership that allows you to play at many courses around Melbourne?

hai brahs

first round in a while. at the national, ocean course. almost played to handicap (stableford). winrar had 42 pts i think.

hot northerly, luckily teed off not long after sunrise.

first hole used to be a fave (par 5). drive slight fade. ball sitting on incline (above feet). managed to chop ball some 20m into bunker in front. yay. out. sratched hole. great start.

following clubs used:

driver
3 wood (twice)
5 wood (once)
6 iron
7 iron (many MANY times)
8 iron (once, did a cathy freeman with 2nd shot on par 4 8th - on in 2). 2 putt par.
9 iron
PW
lob wedge
putter

corporate day at kingston links today.

reckon im in running for teh naga award.

4 pts after 2 holes, creaming drives with truncated swing. enjoying life. it was raining and humid.

then it got dry and i got shit. greens were actually slow. god the pros made it look easy, greens are friggin impossible to read from anywhere outside 30cm.

a few scratches, i think 3 (even lost ball from a cracking drive that rolled into short rough). wiped hole after 1 shot (too far to walk back).

anyway, an enjoyable round despite the weather and shit game (24 pts i think).

changing conditions can cause difficulty, like when the lakers travel to denver.

i think people who don't play golf underestimate how good the pros are. different course every other week that has their own type of grass and different green speed etc. The pros rock up and more often than not shoot under par. Unbelievable.

I've been playing crap lately and haven't had a hit in a while. I need a good hit on the range to get some confidence back.

unlike kobe in denver i was not able to cut one from the herd for some after hours free throw practice.

Played Lonsdale yesterday, apart from 50 knot winds its a pretty nice track, 13th beach this morning, please no wind!

Henley is not that hard - choose clubs off the tee that find the fairway - forget distance

I'm just a social golfer/hacker - play about every 4-6 weeks i guess, boys give me a handicap of 6 which i think is pretty fair, trying out a mates Titliest 909D driver ( i think thats its brand) its long very long and I'm consistently hitting it long - sadly have had 35 putts both days, just cannot make any putts

Appreciated that tip, worked ok. Unfortunately my approach shots and chopping was rubbish. I'm more than happy to blame the hangover and not eating breakfast for it all though.

It's a great looking course, really enjoyed that part of the experience!

Couldn't hole anything within 4 ft on the greens and chipped liked a special ed kid.

Is there a more frustrating sport than Golf?

36 hole Eater tournament Sunday.

First 18 was played like a Kobe lead Laker team. Shots everywhere.

Sencond 18 i came back strong and could of pared the last 2 holes for a 79. Instead, bogey 17 and double 18 for an 82. FML.
