Played Byron Bay yesterday.
Interesting track. Greens were mint. However slowest I’ve ever played on.
Unfortunately only 13 holes fit for play due to all the rain they’ve had up there this year.
Will attempt to play the full 18 next time I’m up there.
Fairways were so soft that I was buggered after the first 9.

No good. California?
Pinal County--between Tucson and Phoenix

I was having round of my life--caddy said to play on, didn't think the real dirty stuff would drop for awhile.

😉

holy! You played on cored greens!!!??
Truthfully--not my photo, buddy sent it

I am further southeast--so no haboob for us or cored greens

-1 (Par) on Tuesday and 37 points today. Down to 18.2

I know this little golden run is going to end but I feel like the lower my hcp goes the better I play.

Figured you guys might enjoy seeing his very first shot on a "real course". He was 7.

Previous to this day he had been confined to a Par 3 course until I knew he could keep up.

Yes, only took 2 holes to understand he could whip my ass. 🤣

30 avg pts today for me.

Winner of today’s comp at the Dunes.
I’ll let you all draw your own conclusions!

2 x 5 pointers in one round is solid. I've had exactly one in my life and that was a hole in one!

Shame to do that in a Sunday comp. Should’ve waited for a board event.

the national and an acceptable score. When you lose a ball with first shot of the day you contemplate and calculate the distance to your car vs to the hole. at least i scored on the remaining 17 holes i guess. probably a score in the 90s off the stick.

Just copped my annual subs. Cracked the $5k mark for the first time. But it's ok we are told, because it is only around 70% of sandbelt course subs.

That we are not a sandbelt course seems a rather important distinction.

But then again, i'd be the first dickhead to start complaining if our course condition suffered due to cost cutting.

Do you guys have any pay for play membership options to link costs with consumption?

Or does everyone pay the same price and it's "as much as you can eat"?

No pay for play options.

There are a few different waitlist classes such as weekday, which you get before obtaining full membership - that's currently a 7 year wait.

They do have one good class that they call "limited" - which is basically a way to keep ppl aged 28-45 in the club. Pay about $1500 a year for 7 rounds of golf and you can move back to full membership when you wish.

Edit - although I do love our Seniors Members option. You only have to pay 50% of your subs. The qualifying criteria? 50 years of continuous membership AND 72 years of age. Not exactly a massive discount for a rather decent stretch of loyalty!
