Your second team?

Curious as to what your 'second team' is (if you have one) after the Eagles. Is there any team you generally barrack for when they play, aside from against us of course?

For me North Melbourne. Not sure how it started, but I think it was during their 90s heyday. Always loved watching Carey, Archer, McKernan, Longmire etc. I've also lived in and spent a fair amount of time in North Melbourne sinde moving to Melbourne, so feel an affinity with the area.

I couldn't pick one least favourite, but not too keen on Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and increasingly Hawthorn and Geelong.

Dockers. Definitely my second team any team out of WA is good for me.

Brisbane. They get bonus points for beating Collingwood in two grand finals across 2002/03.

In case my least favorite team was not apparent from the above, it's Collingwood.

Geelong. Born in Geelong, family is mad Geelong and have family who have played for the Cats. Moved to Perth, fell in love with Peter Matera and the rest is history

That's it. Every other AFL game is on a game by game basis of which team I hate less.

There was already a thread about this a year or 2 ago. There was a surprisingly high number of people saying Freo iirc.

For me, I would never actively support another team. Of course, in a game such as a grand final for example, I might lean towards wanting one team to win over the other, but that doesn't mean I "support" them.

West Coast my second.

No other favourites or second AFL team, tend to follow players rather than teams and the players change year to year.

i do watch Freo play, i dont barrack for them though.

I also dont mind watching collingwood, hawks, brissie, richmond and geelong.

I follow the Swan Districts players, wherever they land. GWS have Coniglio and Lobb, so they’re the clubhouse leaders.

Don't have a second team.
Used to have a soft spot for the Bulldogs because they had coaching clinics at my primary school, but that was 25 years ago now so meh.

Follow Swan Districts as a second team. Dad and grandad both played for them.
Got a bit of a soft spot for Melbourne. If I catch them on tv I’ll watch. Grandfather played for them to.

Freo used to be my second team. Not since Lyon came to town. Now it's Adelaide or Brisbane.

My dad and Chick's Dad know each other from way back. Met Chicky once and he asked me who I barracked for. I said the Eagles and Haselby. He laughed at that.

Subiaco and the Eagles. Went to my first Subi game as a little kid, it was Phil Scott's last game. My family were all Lions supporters in the pre-Eagles days.
