Your Thoughts On Cam Mooney ??

It's great he has found a gig for himself after retiring, I really enjoy listening to his opinions. He is open to all clubs, in particular the lesser spoken about clubs, like North and the dogs, which is fantastic. Says it how it is and doesn't shy away from his opinion because he isnt scared of the AFL flogs.

Nope, nothing here.............

I like him a lot for the reasons others have expressed.

Only -ve would be the leading/closed questions which his interviewees then parrot back at him. (Not that he's exactly on his Pat Malone).

I do like Cam Mooney. You can tell he loves the game and his knowledge is very good (unlike others who only like talking about themselves or know nothing about the current game - hello Dermott and BT).

In fact, are we playing for the Cam Mooney/Darren Steele/Robert Scott cup this week?
Bit harsh on Dermie. BT is a clueless arrogant dickhead, Dermie isn't arrogant I don't reckon.

Cam Mooney is straight up and down- says it as he sees it.

If he had stayed at North he would of been one of the most loved players.

Just has that aura of someone guys want to hang out with or dream to be.

Should of traded David King

BT is a clueless arrogant dickhead,
his annoying wowwweee calls are the sort of rubbish you would expect from a 5 year old child in a playground rather than a grown man commentating a sporting event.

i prolly wouldnt mind as much if there were any basis of sincerity about them.

No problem with Moons , he seems to go about his stuff in a professional manner.

I dont mind Richo however as I find him mildly humorous even if he is an unabashed richmond barracker during the telecasts.

Probably ranks among North's greatest ever players.

Rate him. Alot better than quite a few others in the media. That's not hard with some of those peanuts though

I get the impression that what you see is what you get with Moons if you were to talk to him in real life. Can't say the same for a lot of others in the media.

Didn't forget the 00s answer to the Gasometer but that's a close 2nd.

Mooney was part of a trade that shredded the list and post-premiership morale.

Double edged sword there though.

Got us Colby who was apparently huge off field post the 2002 debacle.

Didn't forget the 00s answer to the Gasometer but that's a close 2nd.

Mooney was part of a trade that shredded the list and post-premiership morale.

Of the 22 players who played in the 1999 premiership, only 8 of them played more than 3 more years at the club.

1999 - Longmire, Mooney, Welsh, Allison
2000 - Pike, Capuano, Bell, Sholl
2001 - Carey, Abraham, McKernan
2002 - Martyn, Blakey, Pickett

The ones in bold played elsewhere. Mooney, Pike and Pickett played in 6 more premierships. Pickett won a Norm Smith. McKernan and Bell won 4 B&Fs. Bell captained his team. Bell, Mooney, Welsh and Pike all played 100 more games. Mooney, Welsh and Bell all kicked 100 more goals. For many of these players, the club can't be held responsible for them leaving. But such a quick dismantling of the talent and experience of a premiership team can't have been a good thing. (But one player from that team is still playing and might be winning our B&F for the 6th time this year!!)
