Dude he's not the AA CHB at this point. Wouldn't be in the squad. He's awesome but you're overrating his season by a massive degree.

What's not logical is saying that 900k is the minimum over 5 years. That's a shit ton of money for a perennially injured player. A 3 year deal gets him to FA, and the chance to prove that he can consistently stay on the park.

3 year deal is correct now I think about it.

In saying that it’s 1 mill a year still. People don’t care about your poor injury management when deciding on a players worth. Just his talent and he has bucketloads of it

Poor injury management isn't the only issue. Teams do care about players staying on the park. It's 800 at most, which is still a lot of money.

If he remains injury free and playing well which he is i would say he would be signing a 3/4 year deal around $750k range
4 years $3 mil sounds about fair for a young KPD that looks like becoming elite

Reid should sign to free agency and then accept his pay day or sign a long term deal past FA as the faith Essendon showed in him throughout all the injuries he has endured

I’ve been big on him since he was drafted and if his form and health continue WCE would be negligent not to offer a good deal to (or past) FA. Essendon are one of the few clubs that have the cap space to go with us but it would seriously hinder getting other players through the doors.

If he maintains the status quo for the remainder of the year and stays injury free I’d be ok with offering him 3 years @1m/year to get him out west to play with his little brother.

Obviously another significant injury and he’s back to Gumby/DGB value.
