I like Browny's opinion on the matter... basically says that not too long ago, players went where they were told. They get paid bucketloads and unless they've truly earned their stripes through Loyalty, their club should be able to trade them if a deal is good enough.Seems like lang doesnt want to go and we cant force contracted players to go as much as i would be ok with the trade. You will probably have to take whatever pick in the 20s can rustle up or send him to the draft which neither of us want.
Left field question
Would we entertain taking Bartel as part of the deal with Geelong.
Obviously we would pay 0 but take his contract on.....
Barras70 dropped the hint that we want him as apart of the coaching group.
Perhaps we can do a 'Mitchell' with the beardless one....
Bartel would have 2 years left in him at the top level. Look at how he played in the Finals.Left field question

I would only trade Touhy if the pick we acquire can then be on traded to Brisbane for Rockliff. We'd be switching a 26yo flanker, of which we have a surplus, for a 26yo mid. That would be a win. Otherwise I would match Geelong's contract offer and convince him to stay.
Not sure on everyone else's thoughts but personally I'd prefer to go to the draft than acquire Rockliff in any potential trade... love him as a player but from what's been reportedly on his attitude and captaining approach I think that may put a dent in the culture we're currently trying to build down at Ikon
Yep, would rather keep him if we can't get a good young player or pick in the 20's for him.I wonder if we shake the pot a bit and find a little more for Zach. No point trading him for bit part players and a third round pick.
Caddy for 2e and third round would be awesome

Seems Geelong would consider Caddy for a couple of years of Deledio who has been injury prone, and Caddy is open to going to Richmond. Not sure why he wouldn't come to us if he wanted opportunity.

Because they want Tuohy and Deledio.
Deledio is the better player and can be nursed through the year, whilst being primed for the pointy end of the season.
Tuohy makes for a good soldier for them but he isn't the match-winner Deledio could be. High risk, high reward?
Risk is right. Seems to be breaking down easier. Rising 30.
Really not sure why they made Tuohy an offer when they had nothing to deal up. Hoping to steal him for nothing.
Deledio showing first signs of old man disease, once the calves start playing up it is very hard to get continuity.
Given respective situations you would think they are similar value.
Maybe I haven't a brain.......but mate, you have no heart.
