I agree with that actually. Bit fed up with other clubs seemingly thinking we are a doormat though.

Tuohy is durable, hard at it, has a booming kick & some pace off half back. Pretty much exactly what you need.

I'd like to know how he made the choice to nominate you. You've obviously made him a better offer than us & possibly others.

Did you think you'd get him cheap? Wouldn't fit with the fair traders history. I've not seen one suggestion whereby you give up a half decent player, so what was your plan to get him? Pick 38?

Tuohy (and Deledio, FWIW) approached Geelong via his management late in 2016 season. Geelong made it clear they are interested, however, they also made it clear it would be hard to make the deal happen due to salary cap issues, a lack of picks, guys on contracts already who don't want to leave, etc. Geelong will try to rustle together a fair pick, and if they don't, well the trade doesn't happen and it's then up to Tuohy to nominate for the PSD or sign with you guys.

What do Richmond want for Deledio? Wonder if our second would go close?

Tuohy and our second for Nakia? If we value Zach at 25 that trade puts Nakia at 9ish. Maybe Tigers pick up a little something else from Geelong...Vardy would be a fit for need.

I don't know much about Nakia, but in principle would rather pay slight overs than accept significant unders.

So I should be pissed off with Zach then? Sounds like it. You'll probably get him on the cheap as he's out of contract. Life of a Blues fan.

I think that is fair value for Nakia, but they won't release him. Vardy looks like signing with WC

It's the player managers that piss me off. Some of them at least.
Sure, I understand and respect that their job is to get the best possible deal for their player, but I'm also sure that sometimes they'll rock the boat when the player has no particular reason to feel unhappy or undervalued by his club.
I'd bet that this has happened in this case. Zach has always come across as a happy, loyal player at Carlton. Now he's had his best ever season with us and suddenly... not happy any more!?
Did he just have a sudden epiphany, like "F*** it, I want to play for Geelong"? I don't think so.

Manager recognized that Zach's value was higher than ever before - maybe as high as it would ever get - so the time was ripe to screw his club for more cash than they're prepared to pay and if they won't pay... go to a club that will.

He actually played 20. Was managed. I believe your guys wanted smedts too. Now he could be something with a free run at it. A player like jordan murdoch also worth having a stab at or george horlin smith. Asking for our first rounders isnt going to happen im afraid. Good luck for 17. Id like to see your mob back up amongst it.
